Preparation Meeting

"You're fucking kidding me, the bitch had another assassin ready in case you failed." Mia said with a groan.

"That would appear to be the case, yes." Rose said back.

The group had gathered in the library to plan things out before time ran out.

"Aw man this is getting exciting! So do we go to a place like the Continental?" Miko interjected.

"The what?" Rose asked.

"You know like in John Wick. It's a place for assassins to stay where there is rules like no killing and what not." Miko said.

"I don't know who John Wick is, but that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Do you realize how quickly those rules would be broken by assassins? That hotel would crumble quicker than a paper boat in a tidal wave." Rose stated back.

"Oh my god! Who the hell cares! We're dealing with a deranged assassin right now, so who the fuck cares about the logistics of John fucking Wick!" Mia snapped.

"Yeah, fine, sorry." Miko said nonchalantly.

"Anyway, we need a place to hold up, right?" Florence said.

"Right somewhere with high security would be best. It won't stop her from getting to us but it can slow her down and time will be important in this battle." Rose said.

"Well then the best place would be my estate there is already a security detail there." Mia suggested.

"You know most of them will probably die right?" Florence said.

"Yeah but we have a better chance of not dying with them there." Mia confirmed.

"Eva has a question." Eva raised her hand.

"Eva you don't need permission to say what you want." Derren said.

"Eva wonders if those security guys will really be of any help?" Eva pondered.

"Well they aren't your run of the mill security they're ex military and the life benefits are extremely good so even if they die in service of my family they're families could live off of it for a few generations." Mia responded.

"Damn how rich is your family?" Derren asked.

"Rich enough to do whatever we want with little consequence." Mia said with a shrug.

"Yeah I've been meaning to ask by the way if your so rich why'd you go to a public school like this?" Jessie asked.

"Well I think we have more important things to discuss, but Vivian wanted to torment people and being a heiress in a public school ensured she could do just about anything short of **** to whoever she wanted. Although now she's just straight up gone to ****. Anyway, I went along because I was her stupid little lackey, and I also got a thrill of torturing people I deemed beneath me. Um, sorry again Derren." Mia said as she looked away.

"I've already told you that you're the exception Mia. I'm not mad at you anymore." Derren said which caused Mia to smile brightly.

"Um, why am a part of this conversation." May whispered. Derren texted her with his choice for her to sneak off somewhere for a private talk, and she joined the chat through facetime.

"Well I'm not sure if Vivian knows I have hold over you right now. If she does you're on the list for sure." Derren said.

"So you want me to go with you guys?" May asked.

"You know what for the first time in a while, you get to choose." Derren said.

May hung up the call.

"I guess she isn't joining." Jessie said with a shrug.

"Alright I'm coming." Everyone heard May say causing them to jump.

"You were in the library this whole time!" Mia exclaimed.

"He said to go somewhere secluded and this is where I used to go to be alone, and then I heard you guys talking but my orders was to call in. It was too awkward to stand next to you guys to call in so I hid." May explained.

"Derren..." Florence started.

"I know, I know, let's just move on." Derren said.

"Oh, Eva had a thought, why not just claim the house? Wouldn't Carnation not be able to hurt master's property?" Eva suggested.

"No I don't think it necessarily works that way." Rose stated.

"What do you mean?" Florence asked.

"Does anyone have something like a pin?" Rose asked.

"Here, I have one." May said as she handed her a sewing pin.

"Why do you have that?" Mia asked.

"What? I can't have a hobby Mia?" May said incredulously.

"Alright so Miko is owned by Derren to be his maid right?" Rose said.

"Yeah." Miko replied.

"Ouch!" Miko yelped as Rose thrust the needle into Miko's arm.

"As you can see I was willing and therefore able to break his property. The ability to make people recognize property is not the same as making your property immune to damage. If you own a car most people will respect the rule of ownership and make sure they don't damage your property. However, what about a car thieve or a vandal then your property could easily be damaged. Carnation will burn down a whole town if she thinks it'll get her her target, so the idea of claiming property wouldn't stop her. Not even for a second." Rose explained.

"Unfortunately she's right, so is there anything else we need to cover." Derren said.

"Is anyone else in danger? Like what about our family?" Florence asked Rose.

"Carnation will single out her target and charge right at them so the best thing to do is to avoid your families." Rose stated.

"So then to Mia's house it is then?" Derren stated.

"No objections." Florence spoke for the group.

"Let's move now then. We need to get out of here before Carnation starts her ****." Rose said.

"Rose do we need anything so you can help defend the place?" Miko asked.

"We need my weapons. I have them stashed on the outskirts of town." Rose said.

"Tell me where exactly and in one text It'll be home before we get there." Mia said.

"Perfect, here are the coordinates." Rose wrote them into Mia's text.

"Um, here Mia." Miko said as she texted Mia some coordinates.

"It isn't much but here's the location of my stash too." Miko continued.

"Alright everyone call your families and say what you need to say and then we'll head out." Derren said.

Tensions were high as the group set out set out for Mia's house.

Author's notes: Hey everyone. I am so very sorry for the almost month long hiatus and sorry that the return chapter is shorter than usual.

I intended to only take a week break because Pokemon Legends Arceus had just released (super fun btw).

Unfortunately, the next two weeks were awful week two my cat who I have had for 17 years (1 month shy of 18 years) had to be put down due to heart failure.

Then the next week I got super sick.

I still didn't have a ton of motivation to write so a short set up chapter was all I really had in me.

Next chapter I write may be on one of my other stories.
