Kenny Head Home Or To Anna?

Poker Faces (HD)

Kenny marched up the stairs to the second floor of Anna's apartment building. His palms were already sweaty the closer he got to her door just thinking about what he might walk into. Imagines of Anna on top of Brian, riding him to completion, or the pair simply basking in the afterglow of a night's worth of sex flashed through the teen's mind. He hated it, but what would be worse than seeing it would not be known at all? Kenny stopped at Anna's door and rang the doorbell. "Okay...just a quick hello, take a peek to see if Brian is there, apologize for leaving, and then I'm out. Bam, done, just like that. Easy...simple..." Kenny recited under his breath giving the bell another ring.

A few moments passed and still, there was no answer. Maybe she's already asleep? It is late, right? And she drank! That's probably why! She's sleeping off her ****! Kenny thought, trying to **** a hopeful thought in his head though it was quickly lost when he considered another alternative. But maybe she's not even home. Brian has enough fucking money to take her anywhere in Dartwin. They could be fucking in the Icy Bliss Hotel for all I know! Fuck! Goddamn it! Ugh, Kenny, just go home you idiot! This is a waste of time! Kenny turned away, his brow furrowed and a feeling of defeat washing over him. Then the door cracked open.

Kenny spun around and he found a groggy, exhausted-looking Anna peeking her head out the door, "K-Kenny?"

"Anna, you're home! Great!" Kenny all but exclaimed causing Anna to ever so slightly recoil, "I'm sorry, I just...I felt bad about leaving you and Brian earlier to help Gwen. I know when I invited you out I said it was going to be a whole group thing." Anna balled a fist and rubbed her eye lazily as Kenny talked, "So while I was walking home I figured I'd you know," Kenny nervously laughed and rubbed the back of his neck, "Come and say sorry?"

"Oh," Anna let out a long yawn, "You could have just texted or come see me in the morning, Ken," The blonde merely replied, "I honestly didn't think you'd be so concerned over it in the first place."

"Yeah, sorry, it was just really...getting to me," Kenny weakly replied before clearing his throat, "How was your night with Brian?" He cleared his throat, realizing the words came off a little...accusatory, "Did you two have a good time bowling, or...do something else?"

"It was fine. Kenny, I'm sorry to be rude, but I'm too tired for this. Let's catch up some other time." Kenny let out a weak nod and took a half step forward, taking the last few seconds he had to try and peer into Anna's apartment, checking for Brian. "Goodnight." Anna softly grumbled before the door shut and the lock clicked once again.

"Damnit, couldn't tell..." Kenny sighed under his breath while turning and walking back down to the first floor, "Couldn't even tell if she was just tired from the drinks or tired because her and Brian...ugh, I gotta stop thinking about it." A genuine look of disgust grew on Kenny's face the more he thought about the two.

Kenny walked into his apartment and kicked his shoes off walking into the living room and spotting Mindy lazing on the couch. She looked up and the pair shared a smile as he walked over and plopped down next to her, "Have a fun night?" Mindy asked as she popped a few pieces of popcorn in her mouth.

"Yeah, had a good time." Kenny nodded back, his head falling against the back of the couch as his frustration with Anna gave way to the pleasant, intoxicating memories of Gwen bent over in front of him.

Mindy gave her eyes a roll, "I know I wouldn't have, ugh, clubs. Loud music, drunk people, crowds...makes my skin crawl." Kenny let out a snicker, reaching over and grabbing a handful of popcorn from her bowl. If there was one thing to be thankful for, Mindy was always good for a laugh and a raise of his spirits. "I never thought you and Anna would be the type for it either."

"We weren't really." Kenny hummed back, kicking his feet up on the table, "We didn't stay too long, only for a drink or two. I can't say I love them or anything, but Anna clearly doesn't even like them. She wanted out pretty fast."

Mindy spun sideways on the couch, now facing her friend, "Oh damn really? That sucks, what did you guys do instead?"

"The idea was to go bowling, but when we left the club Gwen asked if I could help her run an errand real quick and by the time we tried to meet back up it was already too late," Kenny replied with a little white lie. Mindy slowed her chewing and slowly ran her eyes up and down his body, "What?" Kenny asked with a confused half-laugh.

"Uh-huh, an errand." Mindy gave her brow a tweak,

"Yeah, an errand!" Kenny backed his lie fervently, "She came to Dartwin tonight to meet up with us and also pick something up. She just asked for a hand since it was heavy is all. Traffic just ended up being a pain and the place was on the other side of the city too."

"Riiiiight," Mindy gave her eyes a playful roll, "And what's your definition of a good time, huh? Not at all bitter about losing your fun hang-out night because you got to do a favor for Gwen Pace." Kenny pursed his lips, struggling to hide a small smile as he knew Mindy had his number now.

He turned his head away from his friend and crossed his arms, "Shut up and watch the movie, you idiot,"

Mindy let out a small hum, smirking as well as she looked back to the television. The pair were silent only for a few seconds as the Asian girl chewed on her popcorn before finally uttering, "For someone doing heavy lifting you certainly smell a lot more luscious than when you left."

"That's it." Kenny stood up and Mindy broke out into a laugh, "I'm going to bed."

"Yeah I'll bet you are, you and "your buddy" seemed to have had a really busy night!" Mindy continued to tease as Kenny walked into his bedroom and swiftly shut the door. "God, lying to me and getting away with it? In what world does he live in?" Mindy murmured to herself with a smirk, feeling genuinely happy that her best friend apparently had his first time though she couldn't help but feel a touch of disappointment. There was always that little itch in the back of her head always assuming they might have done it together, sharing their first time, but it didn't seem to be. Regardless, Mindy pushed the thought away and took another handful of popcorn, returning to her movie, "Don't get yourself hurt, Kenny." She softly muttered.
