Point it at the Priestess

...Lilian nearly threw off my aim, but thankfully I managed to keep the phone pointed at the correct target. As Esme freezes in place, her genial expression still plastered on her face, I glance down to the phrases the Prompt describes her with and... why do they look so weird? Several are distorted and enclosed in various symbols, and these draw my eye first as a matter of course.

'Demonically Possessed!?'

That... alright. That's easy to fix, right? But even with that as my immediate thought, I try and I can't select it. The Prompt doesn't respond at all. Rather, it's as if some **** is keeping it from altering that aspect of reality which is... intimidating. Alright. Fine. If I can't defuse the situation directly, I'll just have to work around it. The Prompt causes unintended changes all the time so... how hard could it be to do that on purpose?

As for these other protected phrases... the presence of the 'Pure Soul' brooch is interesting, but I'm not entirely-sure what that's about. It probably has something to do with the possession but I don't know how they relate at all. And the 'false smile' is... unsurprising, although Esme - or her impostor - has a good poker face to be sure. And the rest of the description... it's all pretty much on point, though I wouldn't say her robes are particularly elaborate.

Alright. Alright, focus up.

Cheryl's in danger, Lilian's probably about to **** a priestess, and there's a demon masquerading as said priestess who needs dealt with. And worst of all - and by far most concerning - there's some other **** of some kind pressing down on the app, restricting my changes, as if there's a second hand hovering over the mental keyboard.

This is probably the first time I haven't been acting at my leisure so... I need to move carefully, or... I don't even know how wrong this can go, but I'm sure it can go quite terribly.

[Protected Phrases] Rules:

• Phrases enclosed in square brackets [such as this one] can only be changed one word at a time. The word cannot change type (verb to noun, for instance). If there is [a (nested)] set of parentheses, then the (interior phrase) cannot be altered and must be first rendered more **** to adjustment via other means.
• Adding phrases that contradicts 'protected' phrases makes them easier to adjust.
• Adding phrases that complement 'protected' phrases increases their weight.
• 'Protected' phrases with high weight might spread and 'infect' phrases which don't contradict them, thus causing a runaway effect where they self-reinforce beyond control as other phrases are changed.
