Picking hunting grounds.

Before sneaking out of his house John wanted to be sure of something. He took his phone out and dialed Moira's number.

"Newman? What do you want? I don't have any other information for the girl yet." she said after picking up the call.

"It is about something else. Did you seal back the Undead barrier near my house? Can I open a new barrier safely? And if not how far should I be to be safe?" he asked her.

"What are you doing? Why do you want to know that?" she replied, sounding angry.

"Hey, I get it. This place is dangerous! I don't want to go back there. That's why I'm asking. But I also don't want to be **** to ride one hour each time I want to train." he explained.

"I cleared most of the Undead and we sealed it shut. We discovered that it wasn't you that opened it, the seal was broken and you were trapped in it when you tried to form your own barrier. You should be able to form one at your place safely now. We did it to try after the clean-up. " she told him. It was a great news, of course he would like to change places from time to time to get variety, but being able to farm at home would save him a lot of time. John then listened more carefully and heard some sort of buzzing sound coming from the phone. He understood then why she was so pissed about his call, because of their pact she was obligated to pick the call in case he was in danger.

"Thanks for the information. I bid you a good night. Have fun." he told her before dropping the call. He knew that making her lose her blessing would probably lead to more problems than he could handle, but he found her so beautiful that he hadn't abandoned the idea of finding a way to have more fun with her. It would have to wait though.

"Sylvia, let's go." he announced. They both exited his kingdom, appearing in his room. He almost wanted to fuck her on his own bed, but was afraid of his mom finding out.

Instant Dungeon

John, wearing his dark armor, new weapons at his belt and with a few newly crafted incendiary balls (combustible at least, he hadn't had the time to make them ignite on contact, but a lightning spell would do the trick.) for his slingshot was surprised by what he was seeing. The Undead barrier was a twisted reflection of his neighbor and both the junkyard or glade too matched the real world. This place had absolutely nothing to do with his neighborhood. He was standing next to Sylvia in a small canyon of reddish stone. He could see some plants, mostly thorn bushes and cactuses, no animals yet and a hot sun was shining above their heads.

"This place looks so desolate... What will we find here?" asked Sylvia. All she knew was her glade, the normal world and his kingdom, she had never been in a dry, desertic place before.

John climbed out of it to look around, but the place seemed to have little of interest. He either missed something important or it was a crappy place. No enemies or resources in sight. He slid down in the canyon to return towards Sylvia.

"You're right, no point in exploring this place. Let's find something better." he said putting and arm around her. He raised his hand towards the sky and dismissed the barrier.

Back in his room he just activated the spell once again.

Instant Dungeon

Cold! John and Sylvia where caught in a blizzard, in the middle of a snow covered plain. He couldn't see anything apart from the spiraling snowflakes that the strong wind was hitting him with.

"Let's leave this place!" he shouted to counter the sound of the wind. He managed to raise his hand and exit the damn place.

"Those places are not really ideal..." said Sylvia.

Instant Dungeon

Creates a barrier, you can now choose between a number of biomes or have a random one.
Time flows 35% faster in your barriers.

Back to the desert style barrier. John looked what he could create in the list. Apparently he could do desert, arctic, forest, mountain or plains. Plains would give him direct line of sight with everything, but it would work both ways.

Forest or mountains at least offered the possibility of finding materials...

"You know what we need Sylvia? More time... So why not make some?" he told her. The desert had lacked enemies at the spawning point both times. John began spamming the skill, opening and closing it for nearly an hour.

His Instant Dungeon skill was now lvl4 and has interesting bonuses.

You can create barriers containing an outside biome or an actual dungeon.
Barriers of this lvl are more complex and can include events and structures absent from low lvl ones.
You can select enemy types in a list.
You can create a Quest Barrier.
Time flows 65% faster in your barriers.

He had gained new biomes such as underworld, underwater, volcanic and adventure. The last one was puzzling to say the least. Quest Barriers were a special kind of instant dungeons, once in them he would receive a quest with either a time limit or a failing condition.

A dungeon was tempting for the loot it would bring, but it would also be less optimal for Sylvia. John picked Forest instead and one of the ???? Lines of his enemy list. Apparently he needed to find them (and maybe defeat them) to be able to pick one he would choose.

'Wait? What?' thought John, this skill can have crits? Would it mean too that the time dilation would double? John had little time to think about it.

John had just cleaved a giant mosquito in two using Black Wind.

"Gross. That thing is nearly two feet long. Not really the kind of dry and nice forest like the glade. The ground is sloshing, more akin to some rain forest I guess. Listen Sylvia, we have probably a lot more time here than planned, we need to make the best of it. Be on your guard, ready to defend yourself and warn me if you see anything unusual. OK? " he instructed.

Sylvia was looking at him weirdly... No, behind him! She pointed her finger directly in that direction. " Uh, John? Like that? " she asked.

John was about to turn back to look when he heard a deep roar and some screams behind him.
