Penelope's Perspective ('Mother' to 'Pet')
I roll my neck as the familiar weight of my favorite collar settles over it. The breeze tickles my shoulders as I glance over to - and away from - Paul's doorcam. I just wanted to say 'Hello' while I was in the area. I know we had that fight over his silly school but would it hurt to let me make sure he's okay, once in a while?
Ding-Dong.
...Still no answer. Alright, fi-- I-- stumble slightly, nearly falling over as I stand up onto my legs to look at the camera. Nervously, I rest my hands down on my knees to support myself. Ugh, I spend so much time crawling around like the pet I'd like to be that I forgot how hard it can be to stand up like a 'normal' Mom.
Come on Paul, you've left me outside all night. Open the door already! I want inside: I am done out here. I swear, if one more new-age busybody strolls by and gives me a funny look for following traditions I'm going to bite them! Open the door!
Please?
