Party time part 2

Katie, now with all of Ezrine's power, knowledge and memories, stood looking at her reflection. She was now also fluent in Latin. She closed her eyes and opened her mind. It was only at that point that Katie knew how powerful she was. Katie saw and felt everything that Ezrine had seen in her short life. The pain from being burnt was clear for her to feel and Katie couldn't bare it herself. She wept for Ezrine. "You've been through so much pain Ezrine. All you done to help those around you. Only for that to happen. I promise you, your vengeance will be realised. I swear it." Ezrine, now living inside of Katie was pleased. "We just need to decide how to proceed in exacting it." Knowing she didn't have much time to plan anything. Katie went and retrieved her punch from her fridge and placed the small smoke making container inside of it. With the door left unlocked, now that everything for the party was put in place, it was just a waiting game for the first of the guests arrived.

Shannon was the first to arrive. "I'm looking forward to tonight Katie. Whether you got any guys lined up or not. I've got a good feeling about it." Katie smiled at her.

"I promise you Shannon. Tonight your eyes are gonna be opened to just what I can do when I need to." Within a short amount of time, most of the invitees had arrived and the party was in full flow. Only Mark and Maria were left to turn up. Katie was beginning to think that they was not going to show. If they did not then this would spoil any plan that Katie had put in place. Just as she was thinking about it a voice sounded behind her.

"I must say Katie, you've certainly managed to pull of a good bash for tonight."

"Thank you dad. Where's mum hiding?"

"She's in the kitchen chatting with Shannon. That girl never fails to amaze me how mad she is. But, she's a laugh."

"Tell me about it. Go and mingle with my friends, I want to talk to mum alone for a minute." Katie went into her kitchen and found her mother almost in tears with Shannon's joking. "Hope I'm not interrupting anything." Both women looked over towards Katie.

"No Katie. Shannon was just telling me a few stories from when you was kids."

"Oh god. Please tell me you didn't say anything embarrassing."

"Your safe Katie." Shannon stated. "Just a few things from when we was at school." Katie just raised her eyebrows. " You remember overbite Richie?"

"You mean buck jawed Richie?"

"Yep. Well you remember when I got Julie in a headlock for trying to bully you and I made her confess that she fancied him. That's what I was telling your mum."

"I remember. She never lived it down and lost any respect her friends had for her."

"Exactly. Sooner or later, people always get there just desserts.". Katie took in that reply and thought. "Oh they certainly do." Knowing what she promised Ezrine.

"It would be good if that was the case for everyone. Anyway, can I talk to you for a minute mum. I need to run something by you if that's ok." Her mum confirmed and excused herself from Shannon. They headed for her bedroom. When they got there. Katie asked her mum to sit. "Mum. Have you done any searching about our family history?"

"Some. Why do you ask?"

"Is it true that we have a strong connection with witchcraft in our family?"

"You know then." Katie just nodded. "I'm sorry Katie. I didn't want you to know about it."

"Why mum? I've not long found out about our family history and this is something that was not entirely expected."

"I know Katie. The truth is this. The power in our family has been waning for centuries. I kept it from your dad. He has no knowledge of this and I would like it stay that way. But after you was born I felt your raw power. Something, I don't know what, told me that you must not know what you have. But now that you do. I must tell you this. Your power is so great, that you must decide what path to take. I beg you Katie. Use it to help others around you. Do not go down that dark road that leads to ruin. You might find it brings you happiness for a short time, but soon you will realise that you're alone and become bitter and twisted. Then others will suffer because of it." Ezrine then spoke into Katie's mind that she was telling the truth.

"I understand mum. I have no intention of letting it corrupt me. Let's get back to the party." They re-joined the others and went their separate ways. Katie splitting her time between various people, making sure to speak to everyone there. It was then that she saw that Mark and Maria had arrived. She approached cautiously. Maria saw her coming and instantly her face change to one of scrutiny. Katie just ignored the look and kept up her good will appearance. "Thank you coming Mark." Placing her hand on his arm. "Maria, I hope that you will enjoy the party." Taking Maria by her arm and leading her to the table. "You really need to try the punch. Everyone's loved it so far." Maria was taken by surprise at Katie's friendly demeanour and wasn't sure how to react.

"I, er, thank you Katie. I'll give it go." Still not trusting Katie as far as she could throw her, but keeping things civil for the time being. "I'll give it to you Katie. This is pretty damn good." Then Maria noticed the plastic eyeball floating on the top. Katie noticed what Maria saw and then returned her look to Maria's face. Maria looked back at Katie with a raised eyebrow. She couldn't help but to let out a small giggle. "Nice touch." And shook her head smiling. This action thawed Maria to Katie a small amount. "Thank you for inviting me Katie. So, let's cut to the chase. I'm not gonna make any promises, but I can see you're putting the effort in. Mark told me you don't want to be enemies with me, so, we'll see how it goes tonight. I have no intention of spoiling your night for you. Let's call it a truce for the time being and go from there. Agreed." Katie nodded her agreement and the two shook hands.

"Thank you Maria. I promise you'll think differently about me by the end of the night." Katie then pulled Maria in to friendly hug, and used her nail to break of a strand of Maria's hair without her noticing. Then Maria returned to Mark. Katie thought to herself as she pocketed the lose strand. "The main ingredient."

As the night wore on. The punch almost finished and the food topped up then devoured, people decided it was time to leave. Katie was really pleased with how her party went. The neighbours that were invited thanked Katie for a wonderful night, and Katie in turn thanked them for coming. Katie then took her chance to find Shannon, Who was once again in the kitchen, This time talking to Maria and Mark.

"Here she is. The hostess with the mostest." Shannon's usual cheery attitude shining through. Katie put her hand on Shannon's shoulder and broke a strand of her hair now.

"Main ingredient number two." Katie thought to herself. "Glad it's turned out well. Just coming to top my glass up so can't stop and natter. People are starting to leave and I don't want to neglect anyone and miss thanking them for coming." Katie quickly topped up her glass and went straight back into the living room. Walking directly towards her parents. "Mum, dad. Can you keep an eye on things for a minute. Don't let anyone leave until I return. Just need to visit another room for a second." Thinking that Katie was going to the loo, they agreed without hesitation. Instead Katie went into her room, where she had two vials of a lust inducing potion already created and ready for use. Taking the strands of hair she had taken from Maria and Shannon. She placed one of them in each of the vials. "His phialis, eligo viam, libidinibus obortam, committo." Translation. With these vials, the path I choose, embroiled in lust, I commit the two. The strands of hair burst into flame and sunk to the bottom of it's respective potion. Now that they had to settle for a couple of minutes before she could give them to the intended people. Katie brought them out into the living room and moved with them into the kitchen. Walking straight past everyone in there and placing them in the fridge. Turning to face Shannon, Maria and Mark. "Hope you guys have had a great night."

Maria responded first. "To be honest. Yes." Mark and Shannon both agreed it had been a blast. Unknown to the three though. Katie had looked into Mark's mind. There she discovered that Mark was fed up with Maria's over bearing attitude and was thinking of ending things with her. And Katie's potions would help that along if all went to plan. She had three in the fridge. One for Mark to consume, the other two she had just finished were intended for Maria and Shannon. Katie has been drinking another potion through out the entire night. One that would serve it's purpose if the other potions succeeded.

"Great. Nearly everyone has gone now and I've got to say, it's gone a lot better than I thought it would." Then thinking to herself. "And It's about to get a whole lot better." She returned her attention to her fridge and retrieved the potions and handed them out to her three most important guests. "This stuff is pretty strong. I've been drinking this most of the night, something I made myself. Let me know what you guys think." She watched as they took the potions down in one go. Thinking, "Now I just need to wait for them to start working." Katie returned the living room as the last of the guests were now looking to head home, including her parents. She thanked them all for coming. All that remained that was now heading to leave was her parents. "You two off now?"

"Yes we are sweetheart." Her dad said. "You've outdone yourself tonight Katie. Thanks to you I might have got myself a new client."

"Ignore him Katie. Your dad's been whoring out his business again."

"Wait, Have you been trying to sell Mark on that cash and carry chain of yours."

"Yep. Said he might pop down and take a look at some point."

"Oh great. And here I was thinking I could go through the night without one of you embarrassing me." Katie said with a tinge of sarcasm. smiling as she said it.

"Man's got earn a living. Besides, got to recoup the money I paid out on buying your flat for you."

"Ok dad. Thank you for rubbing that one in. Again."

Katie's mum then spoke." Come on darling. Let Katie get back to her last remaining guests. Thank you for tonight Katie. Love you."

"Love you both too. See you soon." Katie hugged them both and returned to the kitchen. When she got there. She could see that the potions were taking their desired effects. Taking a seat at the table with the other three, she watched as they struggled with their new found feelings. "Just us now. What shall we do?"

It's was that prompt that triggered Shannon's subconscious next sentence. She turned to Maria. "Can I speak with you for a minute?" Maria nodded and asked where. Shannon took her hand and led her to the second bedroom.
