Parasite AZ-483

"What is this parasite... 'AZ-483'?" Samus asks

"That one was developed as an experimental upgrade to the zero-suit. It was a failed experiment with bio-integration with a laboratory developed species. What remains of the experiment record file suggests that the creature, upon being integrated into the suit will begin an 'optimization' process."

Samus was curious to learn what 'optimisations' the creature might make. Having become accustomed to curb-stomping her enemies thoroughly in her power armour, she wondered what kind of capability this might provide to her in her zero suit. Perhaps it will allow her to be more combat effective even outside of the power armour?

"Computer, give me the chip for AZ-483."

The computer dispensed an odd looking chip. While the others were much more mechanical in appearance, some perhaps containing a small amount of some for of liquid, this one seemed to be somewhat... fleshy?

"Computer, is that thing alive?"

"It is a culture. The creature will grow once the chip installed."

Samus picks up the chip, feeling it 'breathe' in her fingers and reaches round to the back of her neck. She pauses, remembering that the port in her suit connects directly to her spine. Once she installs this upgrade she might not be able to remove it.
