Outside the loop...

And then… in a moment when you are summoned to fight those massive green monsters. In the heat of battle with your mighty 44. roaring, slinging massive chunks of screaming lead ****. Something happens a mutant charges you, carrying what you at first think is a football only it has a blinking red light. You realized at the last second that it is a mini Nuke, you aren't worried you've been blown up with grenades and other explosives in the past. And you just flashed back to the beginning unharmed, taking aim you gun the monster down as the bomb goes off.

The blinding light is almost unbearable, the flash of heat burning your skin right through your clothing. Making you dive to the ground trying to escape… as the shock-wave hits it picks you up. Tumbling your body end over end, before slamming you back to the cold hard ground with bone jarring ****. You lay there panting and moaning in pain, eagerly awaiting your flash back in time that will end this agony… But it doesn't come and so you roll over, sitting up to see that all your exposed skin has been blistered. "Awwww fuck me."

As you lay on the ground, your body wracked with pain, you struggle to understand what just happened. The mini-nuke explosion was unlike anything you've ever experienced before... the blinding light, the intense heat, and the bone-jarring **** of the shock-wave far to close... you should have been killed.

With each passing moment, your injuries begin to set in. Your blistered skin stings, and you can feel the echoes of the explosion resonating in your bones. Despite this, an unfamiliar determination begins to rise within you - the knowledge that you've been through worse before, and you'll survive this as well.

You take a deep breath, gritting your teeth against the pain. Suddenly, you hear a faint female voice calling out to you. It's muffled, but recognizable: it's the person you just saved from the mutants. She is trapped under debris from the blast, begging for your help. With renewed vigor, you push yourself up, wincing as you move, but determined to rescue them. Using a stimpak to ease your pain and start your body healing, as you stagger towards the sound of the voice…

As you dig through the debris, you find the woman and free her. Her face registers surprise and relief as she sees you, her savior. She doesn't know about the nuke explosion; for her, you've once again come back in time and saved her life. The corners of your mouth twitch into a small, weary smile despite the pain - your love for humanity, even in its darkest moments, has carried you through worse than this.

With the woman safely rescued, you look around at the post-nuke chaos. Your heart swells with compassion and concern for all the other innocent lives affected by this catastrophe. As you survey the devastation around you, you realize: somehow, in the midst of all this destruction, you realize that you have been knocked outside the loop by that close nuclear detonation.

"Thank you for saving me… I am Angela…" The woman greets you with a soft smile, holding her hand out to you. Reaching out you touch her warm soft skin, realizing in that moment just how much you've missed human contact… but strangely, there's a newfound sense of peace in not being alone.
