Oscar sighed. How did he let that idiot friend of his talk him into this?

Oscar Callahan was just an average office worker at the advertising department for some food company. Yummi Inc., if you really wanted to know. He had the job for about 2 years now, and woke up every day to do the 9-5 barring weekdays. He had always been an average person, from average height and weight, average appearance with short messy black hair and black eyes, and an average life. He had average grades in school, left a fairly good impression of people, and did his work to stay in his bosses' good books like any office drone.

So when this magic portal opened up a few months ago, transporting monster girls to this realm, he reacted like any average person would. First in a fear and panic, then uncertainty, before finally becoming apathetic. Humans would adapt quick after all, especially now that the Alternate World Integration Organization (AWIO) made it normalised.

What he didn't expect, however, was to be making a decision to take one in now.

His job paid him decently, and he lived modestly, so he could support another mouth in his apartment that he called home. Yet, he wouldn't have actively done this if it hadn't been for a close secondary school friend that joined the AWIO randomly texting him in the middle of the day to tell him how great his job and monster girls were, practically begging Oscar to take one in and linking to the form that he was now filling up on his phone.

Oscar sighed as he filled up the remaining information and sat back on his sofa at home. "Hope you're right about this..." Oscar's parents lived a while away, and he didn't have colleagues close enough to call regular "friends", so maybe this would be a chance for him to get out of his shell, by having a roommate **** on him. Maybe even getting some excitement in his godamn life.
