She stopped right in front of me, tilting her head.“Here’s what we’re going to do,” she continued, her tone leaving almost no room for argument. “Since you’ve never had one, you don’t have to drink. Mia reached into the same black box from earlier and pulled out a sleek black toy. It was small, curved, with a smooth silicone finish and a quiet little motor I could already imagine. She held it up so everyone could see.

“You’re going to take this, go into my bedroom with me right now, and we’re not coming out until you’ve had your first one. I’ll guide you. I’ll teach you. And the rest of the group gets to wait out here and listen if they want.” She smiled wickedly. “Or we can do it right here on the couch if you’re feeling really brave.
