Open the door

You both take position on each side of the door. Without knowing what's behind it, you need to be careful. You nod at each other and you carefully open the door. On the other side of it, you see a small room dimly lit, with someone standing behind a table. As the door opens, he probably noticed you peeking inside as you hear him call out to you.

"Enter, enter, no need for alarm. No need to fear, there's no cause for harm." He says with a joyful tone, ending with a small giggle. You look towards Eleanor who shrugs. You fully open the door and enter it, Eleanor following you closely. You summon your sword in your hand as you look at the occupant of the room in more details.

He's wearing a Tuxedo suit, with a card peeking of his breast pocket. His brown hair are cut short, and most of his face is hidden behind a white domino mask, leaving only his blinding smile visible. He's standing behind a wooden table with one hand resting on it. With the other, he's casually flipping a coin in the air. Behind him you see two doors, one red and one black. He doesn't seem to react at all to the sword you just summoned and just gestures you to come closer.

"Come, come, no need for arms, let's toss aside doubt.

In this game we play, where cards are laid out.

Heads or tails, heart or spade, black or white, no clout.

Will you seize victory or fearfully back out?"

You glance at Eleanor but she seems as confused as you are. Nevertheless, you advance towards him, your sword still in hand. As soon as both of you near the table, you hear the door behind you slamming closed loudly.

With a curse, Eleanor runs towards it and tries to open it but it doesn't move at all. You point your sword towards the masked man again "What is the meaning of this? Is this a trap?" You ask in a strong voice.

"No traps, no tricks, play fair with care,

Or ill luck may cling, a burden to bear." He answers you with a shake of his finger, as if admonishing you.

Behind you, Eleanor took out her war hammer and brought it down the door with force. The wooden panel of the door explodes on impact and release a small cloud of dust. Coughing, she waves her hand in front of her face to dissipate it and gasps. Behind the remnants of the broken door, there is only a wall with no signs of the entrance you took. You're trapped in this room with this weird guy.
