One year later

It was a autumn night, it had been a little over a year since that magical encounter. While I would have loved to say that me and Jay were dating or had a family, ultimately that wasn't ever going to work out. Our lives were incompatible he would be on tour all the time and even when he wasn't he probably had family across the country and I wasn't prepared to just uproot my life and move away from everything.

Things hadn't worked out between me and my boyfriend, or well ex-boyfriend now, I think that night really highlighted how bad he could get... And how bad I could get as well as I did cheat on him, and even if he was a dick who'd lose his temper over nothing I would still feel at least a bit bad about it. Not that I regret it, I'd do it again in a heartbeat but I still felt the way I felt. I hadn't gotten into a new relationship but I felt good, I think knowing that I could bag a famous rock star who I was majorly crushing on did wonders for my self confidence.

I decide to make myself a coffee, I usually wouldn't drink one so late but tonight a new album was coming out and I was gonna listen to it on the midnight release. I put the pod in the machine and glance at my kitchens clock, 11:30 only half an hour to go, the coffee machine sputters out the last of my drink and I settle in on the couch to pass the time on my phone.

Mercifully my wait goes quickly and soon my ears are graced with the new music, and as the opening verse to the first song hits, it feels... Familiar. It talks about a girl upset at a bar, waiting for her prince charming to come and how her boyfriends a jerk, the smallest smile begins to form as I consider the very real possibility that there was a song written about me, and it was a banger too. I take a look at the song name "night to remember" it certainly was.
