One Worried Aunt

"Why so dull? Something's happened?" she asked.

"Nothing, not really."

"Hmm... well, you can always talk to me." she said with a smile.

"Hmm."

"Packed your bags yet?"

"Nah, I will later."

"So, classes start from Monday?"

"Nah, from Tuesday. Monday's just introduction and stuff."

"Okay then, what do you want for dinner?"

"Anything's fine."

ITS NOT FINE

Something definitely happened and she is worried. It isn't every day that she sees her always cheerful nephew dull and covered in sweat. He usually doesn't practice unless... he is angry and needs to take out his frustration on something.

Okay now, what can she do to help him out? Pizza for dinner is always a good start and... better tell him to go out and take a walk or something. And like that, she pulled out her phone to order pizza

She is no longer the woman she once was. It all changed one rainy night eight years ago. She will never forget that day, the day her life changed. If it wasn't for that, wonder how her life would've been.

She was a heroin addict. Her life was destined to be over long back, back when she was a young girl of 23. She was a bright student, passed out of college summa cum laude. The cause of her ruin? Her now dead ex-boyfriend. Got her addicted and left her on the streets, homeless and alone. She would've been dead long back but she had to change, she had to change for her nephew. For two years, she struggled and moved all heaven and earth to get custody of her nephew, and she won too. It was probably the happiest day of her life - the day she could finally bring William home. She changed for- no, she had to change for William and if it wasn't for him, she would've probably overdosed long back.

She is no longer the woman she once was. She is now 31, no longer as young as she once was, but she is much happier now than her 23-year old self. She is now a financial analyst, no longer a **** addict.

She is happy, and she won't forgive anyone who tries to disrupt her happy little family...
