On the road.

You and Allissa rode for 3 straight hours before making camp. As you were setting up the tents you saw Allissa taking care of the horse. She grew a liking to the horse while you were riding it, electing to name it Peanut. You groaned at first, but after you saw how happy she was, you played along. At least it gave her something to do.

After coming back to get firewood, you spotted Allissa crouching near the grass, picking up flowers. Curious you walked over and knelt next to her.

“Hey Allissa! Picking flowers for peanut?”

Allissa nodded shyly, her cheeks turning a bright red.

“I was gonna set up the fire for some food now, are you ready to eat?”

Allissa nodded again, her cheeks getting redder by the second. It was cute enough to make your heart melt. You set up two seats on opposite ends of the campfire and started cooking some of the rations that were in your backpack. Allissa hopped on the chair opposite yours, sat in a kneeling position, and tried not to look directly at you.

Feeling she was nervous, you mustered up the courage to comfort her. “Hey Allissa, are alri-“

“Sorry!” She yelped out, instantly turning a bright shade of pink.

“For what?”

“For coming with you! F-for being clingy and annoying you and making you take me and- and-.” She broke down in tears covering cute face with her oversized hoodie. This hit you like a stake to the heart. You had certainly taken a liking to the adorable cat but you didn’t expect her to have this much of an effect on you.

You took a deep breath in and went for it. “Hey, listen. When I said you could come I meant it. I don’t know you that well but I can recognise someone in stress. I wasn’t going to leave you in a place that made you uncomfortable. You have been far from a nuisance Allissa. If I make you uncomfortable I won’t **** you to stay with me. I can find you a place to stay at the next town if you want.”

Allissa, now calmed down, sniffled into her hoodie. “I don’t want that” she said sternly, “I-I want to stay with you, if that’s alright.”

You looked at the sniffling cat girl and responded, “Of course it is. If that’s what you want, that’s what we’ll do.”

After a short dinner and some tending to peanut, you decided it was time for bed

Before you went into your seperate tents, Allissa approached you, face beet red and her hands in her hoodie pockets. “Luke, I-is it alright if I sleep in your t-tent tonight?”

This sudden request surprised you. You suddenly felt your own cheeks turning bright red “Um, of course! I don’t see why not?”

“Thanks” she said, grabbing her sleeping gear and walking into your tent.

This is gonna be an interesting journey.
