Chapter 4
by Opticsace
Does she send the e-mail?
Of course.
Sophie hits 'Send'.
Immediately, she begins to have second thoughts. Suppose he was just thinking that she was just another gullible British girl he can scam? Or maybe all of that is true, but he isn't looking for money. A shiver of fear runs down her spine.
Just then, her phone vibrates. An e-mail has arrived and all doubts are swept away by her excitement. With trembling hands, she opens the e-mail. It says:
Lovely Sophie,
I'm very happy we can meet tomorrow night and will look forward to spending all night together with you. It would be an honour if you can join me for supper at 8pm? I’m making spaghetti for supper.
Until tomorrow, my sweet.
Zak
Sophie reads the e-mail. At first she is ecstatic that a tall blond Israeli could think she was beautiful. Slowly, the reality of the situation dawns on her. Sophie has never been on a date. In fact, the only males with whom she has had extended conversations are her cousins, whom she sees every year at Pesach when they come for Seder.
Sophie's joy slowly turns to panic. What will she wear? Sophie walks to the full length mirror in her room. She looks at herself with new eyes. "For the first time," she thinks. "I want to be beautiful and..." Sophie struggles to even think it, "sexy."
She stares into the mirror. The image which she sees is of a slightly tall, slim girl with long, straight bright red hair falling to her waist. Despite the heat, she wears a long sleeve light blue shirt with a button down collar. She wears a long navy skirt, pleated, but still loose, falling several inches below her knees. She wears plain black leather shoes.
What will she do at Zak’s flat?
