I was stronger than her, and probably had more stamina, but I sure as fuck wasn’t a professional demo man and she clearly was an expert if she worked for supervillains without getting killed.

I went first, taking a massive swing and knocking over part of a wall. She sneered and stepped forward, preparing to take her swing. I reached out and grabbed it in the middle of the backswing, preventing it from going forward.. I’d anchored myself to a nearby stud that still stood and when she tried to bring it forward, she yanked herself backwards off her feet.

“Hey!”

“Not a lot of progress.” she’d lost her grip on the sledgehammer when she fell. And I made her ‘ask nicely’ for it back, getting +3 SP (Jenna -2).

After that, she insisted that we go at the same time, we’d have 10 minutes total. I agreed, and the moment she said start, lunged over and handcuffed her to an intact pipe sticking vertically into the air out of her reach and got to work. Yes, I carry handcuffs these days…in prep for Frannie.

She cursed, and pulled a small tool from her belt and began cutting herself free as I flattened everything I could. She got free and did a good job, but with my head start, there was no way to catch up.

“Cheater,” she said bitterly.

“All’s fair in pranks and challenges,” I said with a smirk. “Now, I believe you had--”

This one I won fair and square, getting her to admit I actually was stronger than her, +5 SP (Jenna +18) and some shaved legs the next time I see her, but then she had to run. She’d send me a quote later in the week and she would figure out how she could get her own back.

It was just as well, I didn’t know what would happen if I passed multiple thresholds without choosing something. I glanced at my resources. Only six credits, that credit inflation was a bitch. But, ah, as she left, an announcement popped up:

I’d try for that. Which meant saving up some more. I took a quick look at my options:

Barbie Wannabe: Her tomboy facade is obviously just a fake, look at that body, she’s built to be carpenter Barbie, transform her instantly into carpenter Barbie, SP will be set to 100. She will retain all carpenter knowledge and personal knowledge, but lose all supervillain connected knowledge.

Wingman: Jenna is one of the guys, and will always help a bro pick up a woman, unless she sees a funny way to mess with you. SP gain from actions involving her increased by 50%.

Competitive: Jenna can almost never resist a challenge and will happily cheat to win, including using sexual wiles and distractions. This may be interact negatively with One of the Guys.

Wingman was obviously the best there for long term growth, so I selected it.

I finished my errands and headed home, preparing for the hearing tomorrow.
