Not what it seems

“Linda, stop!” Albert yelled

“What?” His wife asked, dropping her saleswoman character.

“The phone is ringing!”

Linda climbed off him and he ran over t answer

“Lane Residence?” He answered

“Mr. Lane?” A voice asked

“Speaking.”

“This is Vice-Principal Harris. I’m calling about your sister, she got into a fight.”

The couple changed into clean clothes and raced over to Albert’s siblings school.

“Thank you for coming so quick.”

“I happened to be home.” Linda said “I’m an accountant for Superlux, my friends in R&D like to give me test units for Albert to try out.”

“I’m gonna cut to the chase. Samantha broke another girl’s nose. Being as how the other girl did throw the first punch, Samantha will not be expelled. However... she and your brother... no one seems to know what to do with them. They refuse to talk to anyone about what happened.”

“We’ve been married about a year now.”Albert said with a sigh. “Our anniversary just passed... and... well... what should have been the best night of our lives, turned into anything but...”
