"You talk big for a mere parasite of negative emotions!" Aqua declared, gathering magic. ""Make me pay!?" Just try it! Sacred High Exorcism!" she shouted, casting her magic at Vanir... Who easily dodged it.

"Fool!" he declared.

"What!? He dodged it!? No way! Darkness isn't that fast!" Aqua panicked.

"Sure she is, she just never bothered dodging like that before with her weird pain fixation!" Vanir gloated. "Not only that, but I've brought out the full measure of this body's abilities!" he then rushed towards Aqua.

The adventurers Sena had called immediately surrounded Aqua protectively. "Don't worry Miss Arch Priest! We have your back! Besides, it's Darkness! She can take a beating, but her aim is terrible! We can take her!" The adventurers charged.

Now, while on paper, their logic might seem somewhat sound, they forgot to take one detail into account: while Darkness did have terrible aim still, despite slowly but surely working on it since Kazuma had made her a sadomasochist... Vanir's aim was a whole different beast. As such, with Darkness's immense physical stats, he proceeded to start running roughshod over all of the adventurers. It was basically carnage... Except Kazuma noticed Vanir was pulling his punches, aiming to incapacitate rather than kill. He clearly only wanted Aqua dead, but that didn't stop him from easily defeating all of his opponents. Aqua naturally made a break for it.

"Hahaha! You can't escape!" Vanir crowed, giving Chase as Aqua panicked, begging for help. Cremea and Fio stepped in, but Fio had barely gotten a shot off, before she was dodged, and Vanir rammed Darkness's fist into her gut, leaving her hacking on the ground. Cremea snarled and swung her mace at the mask, but Vanir grabbed her wrist and twisted it, causing her to cry out in pain, though this didn't stop her from headbutting Vanir. "Gah!" Vanir recoiled from the singular blow he had taken this whole battle, but he recovered, grabbing Cremea by the head, and smashing it through the nearest boulder, not holding back anything, but since he knew she had Endure, he didn't need to pull his punch to ensure she lived.

Sure enough, she was unconscious, and had a concussion, but was otherwise fine. Kazuma thought frantically for a solution. They were clearly outmatched, and Kazuma realized just how much of a beast Darkness would be after her sadomasochism got some real results for her accuracy, a thought that made him shudder.

"Can't you use Sleep or Paralyze on him?" he asked Xylixia, who shook her head.

"The difference in level is too much to pull it off," she denied, and Kazuma cursed as he went back to the drawing board, watching Aqua flee frantically, but Vanir gaining rapidly.
