Issues on the way?
Not Until Arriving
The drive is calm, with Chloe humming along to the radio while I drove. The crisp afternoon air breezes through the open window, and soon enough the campus comes within view. The gymnasium is a huge building, impossible to miss, and the cheerleaders practiced indoors quite often, and would always draw a crowd each time. I couldn't imagine conducting practice with that many eyes, but when I'd asked about it, Chloe had just shrugged and said it was the nature of the sport.
As I pull into the parking lot, an idea comes to mind. Rather than waiting around for two hours, or driving back and forth between the apartment and campus, why not simply stay and watch? It's been a while since the opportunity has come up, and there's no reason not to watch my girlfriend doing flips in that tiny skirt. Plus, the opportunity to flex on the other guys watching is always an added bonus. Let them all know that this nerd broken the stereotype.
"Mind if I stick around to watch?" I ask casually, and Chloe raises a curious eyebrow.
"Your perverted intentions are as clear as day... But I'll say yes because I love you," she smirks, grabbing my hand enthusiastically. Naturally, she's far more familiar with the environment and the facilities here, and knows exactly where to go. The athletics department is her domain, after all. I find myself taken to the large basketball court, where half the court is already covered in mats.
Most of the team has already been assembled, and I recognize some of them as well, the ones who are friends with Chloe. The others are a mystery to me, and as Chloe approaches, even someone socially inept as I can tell there's some unspoken tension between my girlfriend and some of the others. A slender Asian girl in particular, it seems. Still, I wasn't one to butt in. Chloe is more than capable of handling herself, and if she couldn't she'd just let me know.
First order of business was to get her new uniform, which she receives from the overlooked looking middle aged lady. Clearly, running a team is no easy business. Still, is it just me, or is the bundle of clothing that Chloe received a bit small? She doesn't seem to notice, at least, taking the new uniform with gratitude as she joins the others on the team.
I take a seat on the bleachers nearby, just close enough to listen in on the conversation that ensues. Creepy? Definitely, but the curiosity within is too difficult to suppress. More importantly, a lifetime of dealing with bullies has primed me to spot cruelty hidden behind the thin veneer of friendliness, and that Asian girl has that toxicity amped up to eleven. Something about the way her lips curl into a smirk as Chloe approaches... It rubs me the wrong way.
"Hey Chloe, glad you could make it. " the Asian girl says with a thin smile, one that is responded to in kind by Chloe.
"Yep. Wouldn't miss practice for the world, Jenn. I'll catch up later though, need to get changed," Chloe replies calmly, but is stopped by a hand on her shoulder.
"Wait, the girls' locker room is under repair," Jenn interrupts, gesturing down the hall. Chloe takes a peek, and sees a yellow sign placed in front of the door to the locker room. It seems like she isn't lying.
"Don't worry, if you wanna change here, we can hold up a towel for you," Jenn suggests, folding her arms beneath her breasts. Chloe pauses, considering the option.
Does she change here?
