Chapter 17 by AnchorPillar AnchorPillar

Is the next class normal or weird?

Normal. At least the subject is.

You didn’t think the world could get weirder, floating buildings held up by glowing crystals, catgirls chatting with orcs in the bathroom, a Canadian Moon Base...but sitting at a desk in a class for Calculus takes all the cakes.

You were not good at math. You could barely pass algebra much less anything more complex, yet sitting down and looking at the formula on the board you instantly recognized it as the notation for the Law of Cosines. Which you shouldn’t have known at all and just thought it was a weird Pythagorean Theorem. Actually you didn’t even know what to call either of them before today. Jess definitely is having fun with turning you into a stereotype in someways more than others. You pulled out your CAMP, trusting that Mr. Tanshell wouldn’t confiscate it, and paged trough your currently active changes.

Under the ‘ethnicity change’ header you find what you were expecting: ‘positive stereotype: patient has gained a supernatural knowledge of mathematics, computer programming, electrical engineering, metallurgy, woodworking.’

That was a lot but it didn’t concern you as much as the following line: ‘other stereotype: patient supernaturally knows the proper way to wear every traditional feminine clothing from the lands currently considered to be China, Korea, Japan, Laos, Mongolia, Vietnam, and possibly others. They also know how to wear traditional high class/noble masculine clothing from the same area, including all religious garb. They instinctively know the proper rites for a shrine attendant of most traditions in the area. See appendix AV for summary of clothing preferences and appendix BF for summary of known rites’

You read those lines over and over. If Jess wanted a shrine maiden to ogle she was making sure you were it. The actual appendixes didn’t matter, as Jess could just add whatever she wanted as a traditional clothing or shrine rite. You half expect for history class to learn about how somewhere in that area women traditionally wore shibari tied ropes or something.

Trying to calm down, you closed the CAMP. Getting riled up now wouldn’t do you any good, and Mr. Tanshell was beginning to start class. It would hopefully be pretty boring now with your magic math powers. You have the nagging sensation though you forgot something...

What did you forget?
