Nope, she snuck away

When Will woke up the first thing he noticed was how sore he was. The second thing he noticed is that he was alone. That was alright, he knew the nature of their magically enhanced relationship. He'd just been used to scratch an itch she had, he couldn't expect anything more. After a rather long shower he made his way to the kitchen to get breakfast. As he was waiting for his oatmeal to cook he checked his phone. Surprisingly there were two messages waiting for him. He really didn't have any friends so it was quite unusual for him to be so popular.

The first message was from Alexis, 'heyyy. great time last night. I added myself to your phone. we should do that again sometime, hit me up xoxo.'

The second message was from Sally, 'Hey! Thanks again for helping me move in! You have any plans today? Want to hang out? Text me when you wake up.'

Alexis's text made him slightly worried that the wish would keep going any time she wanted a hook up, but he filed that away for now. There was no need for him to reply to her right now. Sally's message was interesting, it seemed the wish really made her want to be friends with him. What the heck, he figured, he could use a friend right now. He sent her a reply, 'Just having breakfast now. No plans today, what did you want to do?'

A few messages back and forth and they eventually decided that she would come over to his place. Even though she'd just moved in, she was already feeling cramped in her new space and wanted to get out, but she was too tired from moving to actually do anything. She said she'd bring some boardgames she'd unpacked and they could just hang out.

He hadn't really hung out like that since college, but he supposed if he was in the body of a 25 year old again it made sense that's what his friends would want to do. She seemed pretty eager so they made plans for her to come over as soon as she could. Will spent some time cleaning up a little and was just finishing his laundry when she showed up.

"Hi Will!" Sally said as she came into his apartment, "Wow, nice place."

Will looked around, wondering if she was seeing the same run down apartment he did. Oh well, he should take the compliments when he could, "Thanks. Come on in. Can I get you anything to drink? Eat?"

"Nah, I'm good." Sally sat down at the table and they spent the next few hours getting to know each other, playing some games, and just having a good time. It was nice, having a friend. He'd almost forgotten what it was like. Maybe it was the wish, or they would have always been compatible, but she just seemed so easy to talk to. Eventually he decided to tell her all about his wishing ring.

He started at the beginning, told her everything. He even admitted to telling her how they were only friends because of the wish. He left nothing out. Ok, well he left out Alexis. She really didn't need to know all those details.

He expected her not to believe him, so he was shocked by her response, "Oh wow. That's so cool. So we could really just wish for things right now?"

"Wait, you believe me?" Will asked.

"Dude, of course. It makes perfect sense. Oh and don't worry, I'm not mad about wishing us to be friends. I don't know, being friends with you just feels right. I don't care if it's the wish or not."

"Wow, that...uhh...ya, I agree. It feels natural." Will agreed.

"So, whose turn is it? What kind of things can we wish for?" Sally asked.

"It's my turn, and I don't really know. I haven't explored it too much yet. She didn't tell me much, just that it was better at manipulating people than creating objects."

"Okay, I do believe you, but it would be nice to see it in action. Why don't you wish for a small change to try it out? Oh I know, I hate having to shave my legs. Wish that I didn't have any leg hair."

Will shrugged, "Fine. I wish Sally didn't have any leg hair."

Sally was wearing shorts, so a lot of her legs were on display. She immediately pulled one leg onto her lap to examine it, "Oh my God look! It's perfectly smooth! It really worked. Okay, so it's my turn now?" Sally asked him. He nodded, a little nervous what she might wish for, "Okay...let's see..."
