Chapter 7 by CM_2001 CM_2001

Does anything unusual happen in class?

No

“Hey, what’s up?” she asked.

“Oh, um, not much,” Seth replied, trying to sound casual. “Just happy it’s Friday.”

“You and me both,” Megan said as their professor entered the room.

The class dragged on uneventfully, but the whole time, Seth couldn’t shake the odd, tingling sensation in his balls. It wasn’t painful, just... strange. He shifted in his seat so much that even Megan noticed something was off but did her best to ignore him. After class, Seth didn’t wait around to mingle with Megan or anyone else. He packed up his things quickly and made his way out of Crawford Hall. As he walked through the front doors, his stomach growled. He didn’t feel like heading to the dining hall, though.

"I’ll just make a sandwich or something at home," he thought, starting the eight-minute walk back to his dorm. His thoughts of lunch were interrupted by a buzz from his phone—a notification from the group chat.

Mia: "Yo, are we drinking down at Seth’s tonight?"

Seth: "That’s the plan. Anyone need me to grab ****?"

Claire: "I’ve got vodka and snacks!"

Dakota: "I’m good, no need for more booze."

Aaron: "Same here, whiskey’s ready."

Mia: "Got beer covered, all good."

Seth: "Sweet. Be there by 8, then."

Claire: "You know it. See you all soon!"

Seth smiled, tossing his phone aside. He still had some time to kill before everyone showed up. Back at his desk, he booted up his computer and opened Google Maps. He searched the area where the house was supposed to be. Street View showed... nothing. Just a large, empty lot with a "For Sale" sign. Determined, he spent the next hour googling every term he could think of related to the house. He found nothing. Not a single lead.

“I’m losing my mind,” he muttered to himself. “It had to have just been a dream. I’m worrying about nothing,” But the strange sensation still lingered, making him doubt his own words. He stood up from his desk and walked to the kitchen for a drink.

The hours slipped by as Seth tried to drown the weird memory with random YouTube videos. By the time his friends arrived, he had already finished off six drinks. By 8:30, the dorm was filled with laughter, clinking bottles, and the sounds of friends having fun. They drank, played games, and joked around, but Seth couldn’t shake the mystery of The House of Desires. It haunted him, gnawing at the back of his mind as the party raged on.

Does anyone notice that something is bothering Seth?
