Was my hope justified?
No
The moment I walked into the classroom, my confidence was already hurt. Because I was later than usual, there was only a seat in the back of the class, between Kyron and Louise. Both grinned sheepishly as I stepped inside. The teacher admonished me to sit down quickly.
Class began, biology, but I couldn't concentrate. Kyron and Louise did everything they could to disturb me. The teacher obviously didn't realize anything or was just acting as if.
Louise kept trying to get me to open another button, while Kyron did his best to get my attention with obscene gestures. At some point Louise dropped her pen, whether accidentally or on purpose I don't know, but as she picked up her pen she tickled my leg. I tried to kick her hand away, doing exactly what she hoped. My foot came off the ground as a result and in a split second she had grabbed my left slipper.
"Give it back!" I hissed at her, but she only laughed. "You know who's in charge Amira, right?" She chuckled. Not much later Kyron pulled the same prank and again I fell for it. Now allegedly my slippers were off and on different people. Now both able to demand things from me. "Shit, how stupid I've been," I thought to myself, "hope for the best and if not, the slippers are just gone. Tough luck!"
"Amira?" teased Kyron, holding me slipper on his lap, "do you want it back? Then get it!" And just as I was about to say something, the teacher did pay attention. "Amira? Do you want to come and explain this problem in front of the class, apparently you already know it all." "No sir, that's not necessary." I stammered. "It wasn't a question Amira! Now! In front of the class and quick or you will have a failing grade to deal with!"
