Chapter 6 by Tubzyphil123 Tubzyphil123

Does Akira Try To Spy On Ginny?

No Respect Her Privacy!

After thinking about it for far too long, Akira decided he wasn't going to break Ginny's trust for a quick peep show. She had been kind to him since he got here and he didn't want to ruin his chances of getting to Baxton. He patiently waited outside her door, trying to think of other things so that his bulge would go away. After around fifteen minutes, Ginny finally opened the door again, fully dressed in her armour.

"Thank you Akira" She said, a smile across her face. "I desperately needed that wash. It was getting hard to move around in my armour"

"No problem, it was the least I could do after you offered to help me"

"Well, now you can go and get some rest, I will keep guard at the main door, I don't expect any trouble tonight so rest easy". Ginny said before leaving Akira.

Akira made his way to one of the empty stray mats. He laid the rusty sword he was given, down next to him before laying on his side, the opposite side to where Feya was in his pocket. He closed his eyes and managed to drift off to sleep rather quickly.

He dreamt of a void. A void of nothingness. An empty mass around him, sucking him into an abyss of loneliness. A voice called out to him in the dark.

"Akira...find me Akira..."

A soothing voice, guiding him through the darkness until a man appeared before him. A bald man with a knife in his hand. A crying woman at his feet. The man reached out to grab Akira. He struggled but couldn't get away in the void. The knife suddenly appeared in his chest. Blood dripping down the blade. Pain seared through his body.

"FIND ME AKIRA"

Akira jerked awake, a cold sweat covering his body. He looked around forgetting where he was. He was alone in a broken building. He looked down to see Feya sat on his lap. She looked worried.

"Are you ok?" She asked.

Yeh...I'm fine. I was just having a nightmare" Akira said while wiping the sweat from his face.

"O...oh...ok" Feya said.

Hearing the worry in her voice, Akira held out his hand for Feya to sit in.

"Honestly, I'm fine" He told her, not knowing if he was lying or not. "Where is everyone else?"

"They went outside to pack to the final things before we leave. Ginny said we might leave today if the weather is ok"

"Oh, that's great. The sooner we can get to Baxton, the sooner we can get you that backpack" Akira said, trying to cheer Feya up a little.

She let out a little giggle before doing a backflip in the air.

"Come on, let's head outside and see what's happening" She said, flying towards the main door.

Akira climbed to his feet and followed Feya to the door before opening up his pocket for her to climb inside. A wave of fresh morning air washed over his face as he opened the door. Akira was expecting to see the elderly residents and Ginny packing whatever else they needed to take. What he wasn't expecting to see, was a handful of armoured men all standing guard around a carriage with two horses at the front.

"Ah...Akira, you're awake"

Akira looked to his left to see Ginny approaching, hand on her blade and a smile on her face.

"The royal guard captain sent us a little aid. apparently the rest of the evacuations have been finished apart from this one so they sent some extra men and a carriage to help us haul the goods and the elderly. With this, we should reach Baxton by nightfall". Ginny finished talking but didn't wait around to hear what Akira had to say.

Akira couldn't help but feel excited. He was about to travel with a bunch of Royal soldiers to a town in a fantasy world. This was all he had ever dreamed about and he couldn't hide the smile on his face.

"Excited to get going?" Edward, one of the old men asked Akira.

"I'm just happy we can get somewhere a little safer" Akira said.

"Aye...It's been rough around here the last few weeks. Were just grateful we had Ginny looking out for us"

Akira smiled as the man began to walk away. Akira walked to the back of the carriage and noticed Maggie, the elderly lady struggling to carry a small wooden box. Not wanting to feel useless, he walked over and offered his help.

"Ooo, thank you laddie, I don't think these old bones could have handled another trip with these heavy boxes" Maggie said, gleaming at Akira.

After helping to move the first box, Akira help the rest of the people move all of their belongings onto the carriage. It only took around half an hour before everything was loaded and they were ready to move out.

"Thanks for the assist Akira" Ginny said while helping the old people onto the carriage. "Unfortunately, I don't think there will be room for us two up there".

"I don't mind walking" Akira told Ginny.

She patted him on the shoulder and pulled him towards the right side of the carriage.

"We will walk on this side, some of the other lads will protect the left side. You still have that sword I gave you?" She asked

Akira pulled the sword which he had awkwardly slotted into his belt and showed it to Ginny. She took it from him and threw it on the ground. Akira was a little confused but Ginny then went to the front of the carriage and pulled another short sword from it. She returned to Akira and handed him the blade.

"It's not much better than that rusty one I gave you but at least this one can actually cut something. Oh and here as well" She reached down to her side and pulled out a sheath for the sword. She handed it to Akira who awkwardly strapped it around himself before sliding the blade into it.

"I know it's not much but that sword is yours to keep, I guess you could say it's a reward for as assisting with everything around here".

"Thank you" Akira said, thinking he hadn't actually done much to help out.

"Now, we should be leaving any minute. Keep a tight grip on that sword and just follow along. I don't think we will run into any problems but if we do, try to stay behind me" Ginny said before walking back to the front of the carriage.

After about another ten minutes, the carriage and everybody around it began to move. The pace was slow but Akira didn't mind. He was just happy that he was actually making some progress in finding his mysterious stranger, even if that progress was very minimal.

The group walked for most of the day. The elderly were chit-chatting in the back of the carriage and the guards were staying vigilant. After the first few hours, Akira began to worry about Feya in his pocket. He knew it couldn't be very comfortable in there, but every now and then, she would stick her head out and give Akira thumbs up and a smile.

Eventually, after most of the day had gone by and the sun began to disappear. Ginny returned to speak to Akira.

"Maybe another hour or so and we should reach Baxton" She told him.

"Great" Akira replied, now starting to feel the burn in his legs.

Akira wondered how all of these guards had walked this whole way without complaining once. Not only were they doing the same walk as Akira, they were clad head to toe in armour.

"Hold!" Ginny suddenly said rather loudly. "Akira, get to the back of the carriage and protect the old ones"

Not knowing what was happening, Akira decided it was best to listen to Ginny and he headed towards the back of the Carriage. After a minute or so had gone by, Akira began to worry why Ginny had stopped the carriage, but soon after it became very clear. Screams came from both sides of the carriage. Screams that weren't human.
