No. She tells me a story.

"You're not really an expectation, are you?"

Miranda sighs, looking around the lobby. "No, I'm really not...It happened during my first Fall here."

"Before I started to work here, I spent most of my time at one of the houses. It was before I made any friends or anything, so I was pretty much alone, right?"

"Sure."

"...Have you noticed there aren't very many lights around here?" She asks. "And that the police and militia kinda enforces the 'no lights' rule past 10?"

"I'm not around all that often, but I suppose night time is pretty dark, compared to other places at least. This is a pretty isolated pocket of people though..."

Miranda nods. Her eyes are fixed onto yours. "It's more than that, though. I was alone in my living room, almost asleep when someone starting knocking on my door. When I got up to answer it, I noticed how dark it was. I'm not an idiot, when I didn't see any sunlight, I froze and decided not to answer it. Whoever it was though, kept knocking. I slowly walked over to my front door and saw someone standing there - or something."

You reach a hand out. "Let me guess; tall, pale, and humanoid?"

"What? No not even close." Miranda's face twists with disgust with your guess before she continued. "Through the glass of my door, I saw the silhouette of a dark figure, wearing some kind of a mask with huge horns sticking out of the temples. He just kept knocking for the next 5 or so minutes until he finally gave up and left. After that night I decided to work here, Tiny's Tavern, so I wouldn't have to be alone."

"How about the tavern itself? Have you had anything weird happen to you personally here?"

She shakes her head, taking a more casual pose as she leans against the counter. "Not personally, no. But, your beloved Delilah has had plenty apparently."

"Beloved Delilah?"

"Oh don't play dumb, I know you want to fuck her." Miranda says through a tight smile in an attempt to lighten the mood. It falls about a mile short of doing anything she wanted to do, instead it angers you somewhat.

"Focus, Miranda. What else happened to her?"

"The most recent one inside the tavern was probably a week or two ago. I guess she was stocking some stuff in the basement towards the end of night shift. I guess she heard someone screaming down there while she was alone and almost all the lights turned off. Now she has me stocking and pulling everything before I leave. She's convinced the building is haunted."

"I've had my fair share of experiences here," she continued. "But nothing like Delilah's. More physical."

"Like what?"

"People are weird, contractor. Wherever you go you're going to stumble over at least one or two weirdos. Being in an isolated pocket, you're bond to notice all the weird ones... I remember last summer. while I was on a break, looking at everyone in the tavern while I ate. I wasn't being a creep or anything, don't think that, but I was just...spectating, I suppose you could say. My eyes landed on one personal in particular who was watching me. A cold, pale face void of emotion." She sighs. "It wasn't a contractor or bounty hunter, just a...just some fucking weirdo. Scared the hell out of me when I noticed him watching me. I never saw him again after that day, and I can't be happier."

Silence falls between you to. It feels like there's more though.
