Talk to the others in the tavern. There has to be more stories!

You wake up bright early the next morning. You swing your legs off the bed and get ready for the morning ahead. Delilah's stories from the night before came rushing back. You wanted to ask the others in the tavern if they've also had something weird happen to them. You couldn't help but wonder if it was staff-wide.

When you make it to the lobby, you find it to be fairly slow. Delilah isn't there, but you see a cute blonde with piercing green eyes. She smiles at you and straightens her back. You greet her and she happily replies to you. "I have a question," you start. "Have you had anything weird happen to you in the tavern?"

She knits her brows. "Like what? Perverts? All the time."

"No no." You follow. "I mean like...supernatural things, right?"

The blonde crosses her arms. "I didn't take you contractors to be the superstitious type."

"Tis the season." You counter. "Come on, you gotta have something that's at least kinda scary."

She rolls her eyes and breathes in. "I was working alone one night. All the others either went home or turned in to the dorms. I'm an adult, so I was OK with it. I was about to turn in when I heard something tapping at the tavern's window-" she gestured to the front doors, where there were two large windows with the curtains drawn. " -I didn't want to scare myself too much, so I told myself it was a branch of a tree scratching at it. Nevertheless, I turned my back away from the window and continued to work..."

The girl sighs. "The tapping continued, and it just got rougher and rougher. It got so hard that it sounded like someone was pounding their fist against the glass. I prayed that whoever it was would stop or to go away, but it didn't... I rushed back to the dorms and pretended nothing bad happened. I spent the rest of the night awake and terrified that it would happen it again. Thankfully, it didn't. I can't help but wonder what it was...even now..."

"Is stuff like this common?" You ask.

"Why does it matter? It probably was a tree. Ugh, I feel like a child talking about this." She glares at you, a blush forming at her cheeks. She opens her mouth but someone cuts her off.

"Maple!" A girl with black hair shouts. "Could you take your break? I need you to cover my break when you get back."

The girl, now known as Maple, softens her expression. "Yeah, I can do that, Miranda."

Miranda steps up at the counter, taking Maple's spot. She leans into the counter and puckers her red lips in thought. Her purple (?!) eyes squint as she stares at you. "What's your deal, contractor?"

"Just doing my job. What's going on around here?" You tell her.

"What is your job? Did someone seriously hire you to poke around and listen to our staff's stories?" Her tone is less inviting than Maple's or Delilah's. She's taken offense.

You lean into the counter. "That doesn't concern you." You didn't want to tell her you were acting on your own. You were genuinely curious about the situation.

"Why have you taken offense?" You spit. "What the fuck happened to you?"

Miranda's face widens. "Nothing happened to me." You could tell she was lying.

"Miranda," you soften your voice. "Did something happen to you too?"
