Nightmares and Daydreams

Mike woke up with a scream. Whatever magic that the Director was using to keep him calm had warn off, and the panic attack was coming in full ****.

"Mike?" Bri saw that her brother was freaking out, so she pulled him into a hug.

"Sh, I got you. You're safe, you're safe." Mike's breathing settled down as he was able to listen to her heartbeat. When she noticed this, she began to hum a soft tune.

"That's a nice song," he said. Bri smiled and wiped some tears off his cheek.

"I used to sing it for my little sister. I'm guessing you had a bad dream." Mike sighed and started to go into detail about his interaction with the Director. Once he was done, Bri gently took his hand.

"I'm really starting to hate that guy. Tying you up like that is not cool."

"I hate what he did to all of you. Especially you." Bri smiled and kissed his cheek.

"I don't think I got it the worst. Penny probably did." Mike sighed and nodded.

"Yeah, I know. But all of you are clearly holding trauma from it."

"We'll be ok. Come on, let's go for an early morning walk."

Eventually, they found themselves in a small park, where they found Alex.

"Oh, good morning you two. You guys are up early" said Alex.

"Good morning. I had an unexpected meeting with the Director," said Mike. Hearing this, Alex gently took his hand.

"That guy is a jerk, but if you ever need to talk, I'm here for you." Mike smiled and held back a chuckle.

"This might be a little mean, but I like this version of you better." Alex didn't seem offended, and instead kissed his cheek.

"So do I."

The three of them settled down and watched the sun rise together, each with a smile on their face.
