Chapter 28 by Leviathan Leviathan

Mutual Confessions

Izuku continued to feel worried after class. He knew his Danger Sense so far had failed to read into the deepest thoughts and emotions of others, mostly just picking up surface level reactions and passing thoughts. But right now, it was picking up nothing about Uraraka at all, like she was consciously emptying her mind...

No, that's right, he also wouldn't pick anything up if the thoughts weren't related to him even loosely. When had he become so dependent on a mind-reading Quirk, anyway? Genuine connections are built all the time without one, and he shouldn't violate others' privacy of thought regardless... when his Quirk allowed him to, at least. The thing did broadcast all valid thoughts into his head regardless of his willingness to listen.

"Deku-kun?"

He felt his heart nearly skip a beat, noticing Uraraka standing right next to him... in the middle of the dorms' common room. When did he even get here?

"Sorry for startling you! You seemed pretty gone, I was just wondering if you were alright. If today's a bad day, we could talk tomorrow instead..." She started, but he shook his head a little to deter her from continuing that line of thought.

"No, no, it's fine. I was just spacing out a little. Should we head to your room? Mine keeps switching, so I don't know if I'd be inconveniencing anyone." She nodded, pulling out her phone to call what was soon revealed to be Tsuyu. "Tsuyu-chan? Hi, it's me, Ochako. Hey, could I bring Deku-kun over to our room to talk a bit? I hope it's not inconvenient or anyth- oh? You're staying the night with your parents? Okay! Sorry I bothered you then, I had no idea! Hope you have a fun time over there. Bye~"

She hung up and turned to Izuku, giving him a thumbs up with a silly face. "All good~ Okay just give me a sec to clean up real quick and we can talk then." The rosy-cheeked girl wasn't gone too long, though Izuku felt a bit reassured he could finally have thoughts to go on.

Breathe, Ochako, you got this. Just... fix up the bed and the desk a little, there we go, and now...

The door unlocked. She had changed into something more comfortable than her Uravity costume, now wearing a cute combo of shorts, camisole, sweater, and UA-brand earrings - none of it expensive in the slightest, as another reminder of her situation with money.

"Come on in." Her room was... mostly as he remembered it. A bit tidier, but she did just pick things up. She patted the spot on her bed next to her while sitting down, lightly blushing and avoiding eye contact in the process. "Please sit down. S-Sorry if I'm a little nervous, I just... don't know how to even start this..."

Izuku quietly sat down next to her as instructed, sweating bullets out of sheer nervousness. Just what was this big secret? "Um... Uraraka-san?" She **** herself to look at him, though she blushed even harder once she finally did. "I... I have to admit, I've also kept a secret from you. So... if it reassures you, then... I'll also confess it to you, once you say yours."

He knew this was a bad idea. He had barely known her for a few weeks. Meanwhile, this secret getting out could risk all of Japan, according to All Might. And yet... how could he keep this to himself? That he was warping their minds to find him more attractive, or predisposing them towards matching his moods? They deserved to know, even if it was outside of his control, or theirs, to change. Maybe that knowledge would change how they feel, or make them a little more honest to their true feelings, rather than making all of this feel fake and fabricated by his Quirk.

"Okay..." She sighed, then took in a deep breath.

You have this, Ochako. Keep calm and just... be honest. He deserves to know, even if he thinks you're a weirdo after that.

"So... d-do you remember that night you first slept here?" He nodded. Things were already starting to click in his head, but he let her finish. "I... kind of... got a bit too excited about it." The hue of her face turned a deeper and deeper red. "I-I mean I normally go an' sleep naked cuz we couldn't afford ACs back home 'n all, 'n I kinda done forgot and went to sleep naked, and...! Wait, don't smile, you! I'm so embarrassed, I could die right nowwww!" She softly punched his shoulder a few times, pouting at his smiling face.

"N-No, no, it's just your accent! Sorry, I shouldn't have smiled at that, it just caught me off guard, ahahah...!" That sudden turn to a country accent truly never failed to amuse him, rare as it was.

"Meanie... anyway, just... I was there, buck naked, and the bed was so thin, and I pretended to be asleep when I really wasn't..." She noticed he wasn't looking very surprised, which in turn surprised her. "Did- did you notice?" He nodded again, blushing a little while trying to explain himself. "You seemed to be asleep at first, but... then the bed started shaking a little, and I could hear some moans..."

The blush spread through her whole skin hearing that. "WAIT THAT HAPPENED LATER! Were you still awake?! Ohnonono I can'tttt..." Uraraka fanned her grimacing face a little while keeping it hidden from him - all while he smiled and rubbed the back of his neck, unsure of how to proceed from there. "H-How long were you awake...?"

"Hahah, erm... the, um, the whole time, you could say...?" He didn't get to finish his sentence, being suddenly tackled onto the bed by a fully crimson-skinned Uraraka now on top of him, grabbing him by the neck of his shirt. "What do you meannnnnnn?!?! You knew all along and said nothing... I thought I was keeping that embarrassing secret all this time... please don't think I'm some kind of freak for doing- erm, all those things! To your... thing... ughhh..."

She fell on top of him, her head lying on his chest, in total defeat. Izuku just patted her head, trying to figure out how to explain everything.

"Of course I don't think you're a freak, Uraraka-san." She raised her head a little, her tired eyes meeting his own at last. "I think I should explain things better, because I fear you're the one who will think I'm a horrible person after this..." Uraraka shook her head and pouted, but let him continue.

"I... was born without a Quirk. And I never developed any as I grew up." That shocked her enough to make her perk up further, sitting down on his belly while listening. It seemed she was entirely fine with that kind of skinship, or simply hadn't noticed how... close they looked like that.

"This Quirk was given to me, if you can believe that. I cannot say who did, and this is actually a really, really important secret I should not reveal to anyone else, ever. But I'm doing so anyway, because I feel horrible forcing these powers on others."

"Forcing...? B-But your Quirk is..."

"Super strength. That's what it looks like at a glance. But... it's not that simple. I told you it was given to me, right? That's actually what it does. Its first user cultivated his strength and power, and then passed this Quirk to someone else, who also cultivated his strength and speed and passed it on... I'm actually the ninth holder of it. And... for some reason, when I got it, the Quirk kind of... evolved. Maybe it had accumulated enough power to reach its next stage, I'm not sure. Now the Quirks of the previous holders are awakening inside me, little by little, and it even awakened the dormant genes of my own Quirk that never manifested before."

"Wait, wait, this is a lot, Deku-kun... you have nine Quirks? One for every user before you, and your own?" She shifted uncomfortably, clearly having never thought about this even being a possibility. "So is that how... you got all those records back then, with Recovery Girl?"

"Yeah... it's also how I dodged Mirko's attacks after a while. Heroic Body and Danger Sense, respectively. But that's not the awful part. One F- I mean, my passed-on Quirk, is boosting all of my other Quirks in terms of power and potential. And my own Quirk is being boosted in the same way, while warping my other Quirks to align more with its... erm... themeing, too."

Uraraka scratched her head. "This is really complicated... So what is your original Quirk? Something super cool and heroic, I bet!" Izuku shriveled up a little, and she noticed that clear as day.

"Not... at all. It's a combination of my mom's Attraction of Small Objects and my dad's Fire Breath. It's called Attraction of Hot Things. Do you remember that time when we bumped into each other, and time kind of slowed down a lot? That's how it activates." Realization started dawning on her. "It creates a sort of link between us. For example..." He thought about how nice it would feel for her to cuddle up with him a little. "Do you feel a bit of a compulsion to cuddle right now?"

Her eyes went wide open. "N-No, I just... I mean... I kind of... always feel that way, but it got a little more intense right now? Oh gosh, that sounded a little weird, I mean that I'm just... a cuddly person, okay? But... yeah, I think I get it... you can kind of make people do things you want, if they were already kind of willing to do it?"

He shook his head. "Only people I'm attracted to, hence the 'Hot Things' in the name of the Quirk- ah, I mean, wait-!" Yep. He just told her that he found her attractive, since it worked on her. That red hue was coming back in full ****, for both of them.

"You... find me hot, then, Deku-kun?" She bit her lip, closing back in on him despite her embarrassment. "I think... I find you really hot, too." Now it was his turn to go wide-eyed at her words, but she didn't stop there. Her hands lifted his shirt a little in order to rub his toned abs, though one of them soon left to instead trace a finger over his arm's muscles. It felt as if she was trying to rub against him in ways she's seen in movies without any actual practice or experience, although it was still intimate and warm to him.

"If I'm being honest, I liked your cute face and the way you talked and acted ever since I used my Quirk on you, back at the entrance exam. Then, you saved me from that robot monstrosity and I kind of fell in love a little, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't appreciate your muscles when your costume ripped, or how cool you were when we fought Bakugo..." He tried to get a word in, but she put a finger to his lips and continued. "...and that thing. I can't forget about it no matter how much I try. Seeing it in class was one thing, drawing it was another - I think I memorized the shape of it already - but I had it between my thighs, too. All night long. And it scares me. It's so big, and hard, and so much comes out of it... I'm not sure if I could do much to help it, but I kinda feel bad for how tense and pent up it felt that night..."

"Uraraka-san..." Izuku propped himself up with his arms, his face now dangerously close to Uraraka's. He could smell the fruity scent of her hair, and feel the warm tingle of her breath on his skin. "...so it wasn't my Quirk that made you like me...?" She gave him a weak little nod, her eyes teary and jumping with uncertainty. Tears softly ran down his cheeks no matter how hard he tried to hold them back, no matter how much he told himself to stop being such a crybaby.

He couldn't help it. It felt as if a huge burden had just been lifted off his shoulders, and replaced by the fluffiest, warmest feeling in this world.

And it felt like Uraraka's lips were getting closer, and closer, and closer...
