Chapter 34

Is Kevin up for a surprise?
Multiple, apparently
Hana was quickly getting very comfortable with using Kevin's wishes and starting to push at boundaries he didn't even know he had. It wasn't that he didn't like the idea, but she was asking him to make wishes and forget them. Didn't that have the potential for unintended consequences?
He looked across the table at his girlfriend and adopted sister. He wanted to trust her. She was watching him expectantly, but not insistently. True, her eyes were sparkling with mischief, but he couldn't perceive any deception in them. Of course, it was probably easy to miss that kind of thing when your cute new live-in girlfriend was asking you to help her do something for you, especially when you'd been a virgin the previous day.
With a twinge of guilt, Kevin silently wished, ‘I wish I knew if Hana was being upfront about her request, but not to know what she's planning.’ He immediately had absolute certainty that the blue-haired girl across from him was being completely genuine, and immediately felt like an ass and a bad boyfriend for checking. Now he felt like he had to go along with her plan, that he owed it to her.
It wasn't like he wouldn't be making the decisions, and he could always change his mind and wish to remember. He could work some fail-safes into the wishes before he erased his memory too. The more he thought about it, the less risky it seemed.
Not wanting to keep Hana waiting any longer than he already had, he said, “I guess a few wishes couldn't hurt. I do really want to see what you've got planned.”
“Awesome!” Hana cried, clasping her hand together in excitement. “You're going to love this. I promise,” she assured him, speaking quickly. “The first thing we need to do is—”
“Did it work?” Hana asked abruptly, her posture jumping slightly, like a few frames had been cut from a video. It took Kevin a moment to reorient and realize that he had just lost several minutes. Looking down for confirmation, he saw that his half-eaten breakfast was now finished. He also felt a familiar tightness in his jeans, which gave him a hint to the nature of the surprise his girlfriend had planned for him.
“Are you alright, Master?” came Jessica's voice from his right, causing Kevin to jump. His genie was standing at attention next to the table, hands clasped in front of her and blushing.
She was wearing a puffy pink jacket over a ruffled white blouse that emphasized her sizable chest and dark form-fitting jeans that showed off her toned legs, her bouncy blonde hair rounding out the picture of the perfect popular girl. From the dreamy expression on her face, Kevin could guess that he must have made several wishes.
Rubbing his eyes as he felt the beginnings of a headache coming on, he turned to his girlfriend and asked, “What is Jessica doing here?”
Hana grinned and said, “I'll take that as a yes. You wished her here so that we could ask her a few things to help with your surprise.”
“Oh, okay,” Kevin responded dumbly, still feeling a bit overwhelmed. His growing headache wasn't helping. After taking a moment to organize his thoughts, he asked, “So, the surprise is all set up?”
“Yep. Trust me, you're gonna love it,” Hana answered, an excited grin still plastered on her face.
“Mistress is right, Master. You really will,” Jessica agreed cheerily.
Hana rolled her eyes good-naturedly. “You're just happy he made all those wishes.”
“I'm grateful for the wishes from you and Master, Mistress,” the genie replied.
“Mistress?” Kevin asked, shooting his girlfriend a questioning glance as his head continued to throb.
Hana shrugged. “She was getting a little uppity,” the blue-haired girl explained nonchalantly, “so I made a wish. Now she knows her place and addresses me the way she should.”
“Yes, Mistress. I do. Thank you for the wish, and I'm sorry for everything I did to you,” the mind-wiped blonde chimed in obediently.
“That was the old you, pet,” Hana replied, her smile taking on a dark edge. “You're better now that Kevin fixed you. Useful.”
Kevin found that fairly unsettling, but thought better of confronting his girlfriend about it, given everything she'd been through. Instead, he turned to his genie and asked, “How did studying your life go, Jessica?”
The cheerleader smiled. It wasn't the vacant smile from the day before, but it still didn't quite reach her eyes. “I learned a lot about the person I used to be, Master. Like Mistress says, she wasn't a very good person. I can pretend to be her though, if that is what you wish.” She put emphasis on the her last word, sounding almost hungry.
“Yeah, that's the plan,” Kevin agreed, only to be met with a pout from his genie.
Hana laughed and said, “Just give our pet a wish, bro. She deserves it and she'll do a better job.”
Jessica nodded eagerly, adding, “Mistress is right. I'll do much better if you wish me to do well, Master.”
Kevin balked. Jessica definitely still wasn't, well, Jessica if she was letting someone call her a pet. It all definitely warranted some thought, but he didn't even want to try to unwrap the new dynamic between his girlfriend and his genie with the headache he was sporting. Acquiescing, he wished, “I wish Jessica would do a good job of pretending to be her old self.” A thought occurring, he added, “I wish this headache was gone too.”
Instantaneously, Kevin's headache lifted. At the same time, Jessica shivered and let out a small moan at the double wish. When she recovered, her posture straightened. Crossing her arms under her chest and lifting her chin, she showed the same haughty confident manner Kevin had always known her to have.
When Jessica didn't say anything, Hana sternly commanded, “Thank your master for the wish, pet.”
Jessica sneered down at the shorter girl and indignantly spat out, “Pet? I'm no one's pet, and certainly not a pint-sized little geek like yours, Mistress. What in the hell makes you think you can talk to me like that? Haven't you learned your place yet? Or do I need to remind you?”
How does Hana respond?
