Ms. Kobiashi

Shota ran towards the closest place he could think of.

Ms. Kobiashi's apartment.

*Knock-Knock-Knock*

His finger racked against the door.

"Come on... open up open up!"

Shota waited impatiently, but nothing came.

*Knock-Knock-Knock*

"Huh?" He heard a muffled, tired voice come from inside.

*Knock-Knock-Knock*

"Hold on..." There was a sigh, "I'm coming,"

*DING-DONG*

He pushed the door bell and went back to bobbing on his feet.

"I said I'm coming!" The voice grew louder and food steps tapped against the wooden floor.

Shota raised his hand again to knock on the door.

*Knock-Knock-Kno-*

The lock clicked open, and the door swung out to reveal Ms. Kobayashi herself in all her extremely tired glory. The woman adjusted her glasses and yawned deeply.

"What is it-" She blinked and rubbed her eyes, "Oh. Shota. Isn't it your birthday?"

"Yeah! And-"

Ms. Kobayashi yawned again and shooed him off with a waving hand, "Yeah yeah.. Happy birthday..." She blinked groggily, "I have your present somewhere in here...I'll.." Kobayashi yawned yet again, "I'll.. get it to you later.... I had a long night yesterday, and it's my day off so, I'm sleeping in."

"Actually I have something to show you!"

"Later." Ms. Kobayashi said flatly and went to close the door.

"But-"

"Later, Shota." She repeated, "I'm too tired to even see what you have... I promise I'll be all ears when I'm up and-"

Ms. Kobayashi never got to finish her sentence since Shota wasn't about to let her close the door and lock him out. He pulled out his Hypno gun and pressed the trigger button.

A yellow spirling beam washed over her, and Ms. Kobayashi's eyes began to spiral hypnotically, and she stood at stiff and complete attention.

"Input trigger," She said with a blank tone.

"When I ask, 'Can I come in,' You will always let me into the room you are currently in." Shota said.

"Trigger received," Ms. Kobayashi spoke into the air, her back perfectly straight and her eyes continued to spiral.

"Ohhh! This is so cool!" Shota punched the air, "Thank you, rock! Thank you Thank you Thank-"

Ms. Kobayashi blinked out of her trance, her swirling eyes vanished and she said, "Bye, Shota. Happy birthday," Extremely quickly while closing the door.

Oh crap! He waited too long, and the trance wore off.

Well, luckily, he gave her a trigger already.

"Can I come in?"

There was a pause from behind the door, then it opened, and Ms. Kobayashi shrugged her shoulders.

"Sure," She said.

Shota walked in with a smile.

This is going to be the best birthday ever.
