Moving into the Nest
The final weeks before graduation passed in a suffocating, seamless routine.
Daily life in the period apartment ran like clockwork, its tempo dictated entirely by Loona. Every morning her silent wake-up call tore me from sleep: out of bed by five-thirty, icy water splashed across my face, followed by push-ups, crunches, and planks over the bare floorboards until muscles trembled and sweat stung my temples. The body reflected in the bathroom mirror was changing without mercy. My abdominals sharpened into a distinct six-pack, my shoulders widened, and veins began mapping across my forearms. With every stretch, with every step, the rigid, unyielding resin locked between my thighs served as a constant reminder of who held absolute control. The padlock remained sealed—for days, then weeks on end.
After classes at school, where Emma skirted around me with downcast eyes and an ashen face, domestic duties awaited. Almost every other day, Vanessa returned late in the afternoon, thoroughly drained from the yoga studio. The moment the heavy front door clicked shut, she was on the sofa, stretching out her long legs and beckoning me over with an offhand flick of her hand.
I would sink to my knees on the carpet, take hold of her bare feet, and knead through the tight tendons and calf muscles with both thumbs, while Loona leaned against the kitchen counter with folded arms, silently overseeing the ritual. Vanessa relished the attention, praised my discipline, raved about my athletic posture, and casually handed me two twenty-euro notes from her purse each time—cash I was forced to drop into Loona’s outstretched palm less than ten minutes later without a word.
The decisive pivot for the future came on a Sunday evening when my father returned home from his international construction project for an extended weekend.
We were gathered around the large dining table beneath the ceiling moldings. Vanessa had poured vintage red wine, and the atmosphere mirrored the pristine portrait of an affluent family. My father, visibly proud of my academic marks and altered bearing, regarded me across the table with deep satisfaction.
Right on cue, the two women introduced the topic.
It was an orchestrated performance. Vanessa rested her hand on my father’s forearm, speaking effusively about how mature and focused I had become, noting that the upcoming start of medical school was the ideal moment to take the step toward independence. Loona chimed in with measured reserve: a dedicated space was essential for intense study, and as an experienced student, she could keep an eye on me, offer guidance, and ensure university life didn't overwhelm me.
My father required little convincing. He interpreted the plan as commendable sibling care and a milestone of my coming of age. Before dinner ended, he readily agreed to cover the full rent for a spacious period apartment in Schöneberg.
A volatile mixture of sensations pulled at me. There were moments when my throat tightened, recognizing just how thoroughly I was surrendering myself to her. Yet the reality of living alone with Loona sparked an even stronger, electric tremor. I adored her. She had whispered to me more than once that without Vanessa hovering nearby, we would finally be freer—that she could do entirely different things with me, play far more intensely, and push me exactly the way I craved deep down. I wanted this step. I looked forward to it, even as a quiet, dull awe of her absolute power hummed beneath the surface.
A few weeks after graduation—where my father had clapped my broadened shoulders in the foyer—the white moving van pulled up before the new building, and the work finally began.
Midsummer heat beat down over the asphalt. Box by box, I carried our belongings up four flights of stairs. Sweat burned behind my round glasses; the resin rubbed warm and insistent against my groin.
“John, man! Look at you!”
A heavy clap struck my shoulder. Timo grinned with his sun-tanned face, arms sculpted in a sleeveless tank, hair casually tousled. He had traveled in from his university town specifically to help me move—my best friend, the effortless charmer, entirely oblivious to the machinery running behind the scenes.
“You've really put on some size, man,” he laughed, punching my bicep before hoisting two cardboard boxes. “And on top of that, you’re moving in with an absolute stunner like your stepsister. Half of Berlin is going to envy this flat.”
I smiled faintly and took the stairs beside him.
On the fourth floor, the double doors stood wide open. Inside, Loona met us wearing a fitted white ribbed tank and denim shorts. But standing beside her in the hallway was someone else: Nadja.
She wore an airy linen button-down over tailored shorts that accentuated her long, flawless legs. Her delicate features, doe-brown eyes, and radiant, open smile instantly disarmed me. She came across as remarkably warm, effortlessly bright—a breath of fresh air in the echoing rooms.
“Ah, the heavy lifters are here,” Loona said smoothly, taking in Timo’s broad frame with an assessing glance before introducing them.
Timo shook her hand with easy charm, and as he moved past, Nadja turned directly to me. Her gaze was warm, genuinely curious, and disarmingly gentle as she looked me over from top to bottom.
“Hi John,” she greeted in a soft, melodic voice, offering an engaging smile. “It’s wonderful to finally meet you properly. It’s incredible how many boxes you’re hauling up here. Just pace yourself, okay? Don't overdo it.”
She stepped aside to clear the way, her hand brushing against my bicep in a casual, fleeting touch. Heat flooded straight to my face. She was lovely, remarkably graceful, and treated me with such ease that my pulse skipped.
“John, take those boxes straight through to the back, please,” Loona instructed, using that calm, even cadence that sent a quiet shiver down my spine.
I nodded, carrying the heavy load into the rear room. The cage beneath my shorts burned like liquid lead. Behind me, I heard Loona laugh softly at a joke Timo had just made.
The afternoon wore on in a grueling rhythm of stairwells, cardboard, and the dull thump of furniture across oiled floorboards.
Alongside Timo and me, three guys from Loona’s university circle helped clear the van in exchange for pizza and beer. The stairwell echoed with heavy footfalls, curses over narrow landings, and the rattle of toolkits.
Timo moved through the chaos with casual endurance. He cracked jokes about the lack of an elevator and flirted with the effortless ease that came naturally to him. Loona played along with surprising openness. Normally guarded and cold around men, today she laughed at his remarks, traded sharp retorts, and kept an observant eye on him. Every time he pulled his damp shirt over his head, revealing his broad, defined back, a faint, fleeting smirk touched her lips.
I hauled the heavier book crates in silence. My thighs burned, the resin cylinder scraped against sensitized skin with every pivot, and heat gathered under the waistband of my gray shorts.
“Here, drink something first.”
A cold glass bottle pressed against my forearm. Startled, I looked up.
Nadja stood there, holding a damp paper towel and extending a fresh bottle of mineral water. Her smile was open, almost protective. “You look like you're about to collapse, John. Leave that box, it isn't going anywhere.”
“Thanks,” I exhaled, pushing my glasses up my slick nose with the back of my hand before taking the bottle. The chilled water scorched delightfully down my parched throat.
Nadja took a half-step closer. Her eyes dipped from my face down to my chest, where the damp fabric clung to the new definition of my torso. “Loona wasn't exaggerating. You really have been training hard, haven't you? It shows.”
Her tone carried zero condescension. An awkward warmth flushed my cheeks. Against the icy scrutiny I was used to from Loona, Nadja’s easy kindness felt like an oasis.
“I… just try to stay consistent,” I mumbled, scratching the back of my neck to mask my discomfort.
“It definitely shows,” Nadja laughed softly, leaning in slightly to dab a bead of sweat from my temple with the cool paper towel. The contact was brief, almost offhand, yet my entire body locked up. Beneath my athletic shorts, trapped flesh surged against the rigid frame. If she knew what she was touching. If she had the faintest suspicion of what was locked under the fabric. The thought caught my breath—a sharp spike of panic mingled with a dizzying rush.
“Hey, John! Stop daydreaming, grab an end!” Timo called from the hall, wrestling my bed frame through the doorway with two of the guys.
By eight in the evening, the van was cleared. The university crew headed off with a few beers for the road. The living room sat buried under an obstacle course of cardboard, tool cases, and bubble wrap, though the kitchen was already fully functional thanks to Nadja’s organizational sense.
Timo collapsed onto an overturned box, wiping his neck with a towel and taking a long swig from his bottle. “Damn, that was brutal. But the place is unreal. Whenever I’m in Berlin, I know where my crash pad is.”
“You’re welcome anytime, Timo,” Loona replied, her voice like velvet. Leaning against the kitchen counter with an open bottle of wine, she poured a glass for Nadja and herself. Her gaze trailed down Timo’s broad shoulders, lingering on his hands before lifting to meet his eyes. It was a look I recognized—the measured appraisal she reserved for quarry.
Nadja set her glass down and reached for her bag. “I have to head out, girls' night is waiting. But it was great helping you settle in.” She walked over to me, rested a hand briefly against my arm, and gave me an open, radiant smile. “Get some rest, John. You really put the work in today.”
My pulse raced. “Thanks for all the help, Nadja.”
The moment the front door closed behind her, Timo prepared to leave as well. He was crashing with a friend in Friedrichshain for the night. Pulling me into a rough shoulder clap, he leaned in and grinned: “Your stepsister’s friend is an absolute ten, man. Play your cards right. And your sister… hell, you walked right into paradise.”
I nodded mutely, seeing him to the door.
When the heavy lock engaged with a decisive click and the footsteps faded down the stairwell, a sudden, heavy quiet swallowed the apartment.
I turned around slowly.
Loona was standing at the end of the long hallway. Warm evening light cut diagonally through the high windows, silhouetting her figure. Her smile was gone. The bright, charming demeanor she had worn all afternoon for Timo and the helpers had vanished completely. In its place remained the sharp, clinical composure that terrified me—and kept me entirely enthralled.
She said nothing. She simply raised her right hand, curled an index finger, and beckoned me forward.
My breath stalled. The resin beneath my shorts felt like a branding iron. With bowed head, I walked down the hall, step by deliberate step, stopping directly before her bare feet on the freshly oiled floor.
“Kneel,” she said softly.
I dropped to my knees. My hands rested flat on my thighs, eyes pinned to the grain of the wood.
Loona closed the remaining inches until her shins nearly brushed my shoulders. I caught her scent—crisp citrus, the heat of the day's labor, and the quiet assurance of her dominance. Tilting her head, she hooked two fingers beneath my chin, tilting my face up until I had no choice but to meet her emerald eyes.
“Quite a day, wouldn't you say?” she murmured, a faint smirk twitching at the corner of her lips. “Timo looks rather striking when he works up a sweat. Don't you agree?”
I swallowed dryly. “Yes.”
“Good.” Her hand slipped from my chin, tracing down across my chest, measuring the heavy pounding of my heart, before sliding over my firm stomach. “He will be visiting often. Very often, in fact.” Her fingers caught the waistband of my shorts, pulling them down in one swift motion.
The cool evening air hit the damp, painfully constricted resin cage. The small brass padlock gave a faint metallic chime against the shell.
Loona inspected the enclosure with a detached, satisfied smile. She didn't reach for a key. Instead, she lifted her foot, pressing the smooth arch of her sole firmly down over the casing, driving the base ring deep into my pubic bone.
“Welcome to your new home, John,” she whispered. “No stepmother anymore. No one coming to look after you. From this day on, only my rules apply. You saw how pretty Nadja is, didn't you? How kind she was to you?” She increased the downward pressure until a low gasp broke from my chest. “Do your best. Perhaps eventually I'll allow you to get a little closer to her. But tonight… you stay exactly where you are.”
