Chapter 11 by JackSimth JackSimth

Moriarty

Alice takes a bit to go over her own MRI… a full body scan, mostly taken before she woke up. There's other reports open on the screens… blood pressure, blood test results, cheek swab tests… a full battery of perfectly normal tests done by students in the last couple hours… and nothing she didn't already know from scanning herself. While the **** are not actually out of her system, Alice moves easily anyway thanks to the changes to her neurochemistry: The **** don't bind to her receptors anymore. Looking around, she does find a bag holding her stuff: Purse, clothes, semi-stolen ID, and phone… the last of which makes her pause. “...their own tracking device…” he called it. Tapping her foot as she changes into her street clothes, Alice settles on putting her phone into Airplane Mode for now. ‘Shutting the radios down should do the job…’ she thinks, ‘...provided it's actually doing that and he didn't break into the system… ugh… but it's hard to have a basic social existence anymore without one.’ Sticking it back in her purse, she runs her hands over her own body, looking for any other trackers. Finding none, she heads out of the medical building. Unsure of where she wants to go, Alice settles for just walking around campus as she thinks. ‘I'm a target. The bad guy knows who I am, but not all I can do. Throwing him at Prof. Moriarty bought time… hopefully he doesn't kill the guy… but UGH. He's going to be back once he figures out I have him pursuing an untamed waterfowl.’

'So…’ she considers, walking past the Art building where some men are taking down the hazard tape, ‘I don't want to be a man again, ever. So I cannot go back to my old life. I need a new identity. I'll have to start over on college, or maybe skip it entirely… I can live with that.’ She takes a breath as she gets to the biological sciences building, passing it by and leaving it behind. ‘But irrespective of that, I'll need to deal with stupid doctor robot dude… if I don't make it clear he's not going to win, he'll just keep coming after me. So I need to go hunting…’ Alice grins, ‘...and the bait is already set.’ Alice heads for the administration building, and looks up Dean Moriarty… she never had reason to visit his office before. Of course it's listed on the big board in the lobby, so she has no trouble finding it… and gets there just as two very busty blonde women in nurses' uniforms - identical twins? - accomapny the professor out of his office, one on either side of the man, lipstick still on his face in a few places. The professor is of course, smiling, his arms wrapped around both of their waists, his hands visibly stroking their hips. Alice frowns briefly, noting that while the two women are smiling, they aren't very animated… more like three dimensional pictures… and their faces are exactly like the nurse at the medical clinic the day before. Playing a hunch, Alice holds out her hand, “Hi, I'm Candy, good to meet you!” One of the two nurses holds out a hand, “Bambi,” and shakes the proffered arm, “...but we really must be going; the good Dean here has some swelling and we need to relieve the pressure immediately.” ‘In his pants, I'm sure,’ Alice thinks to herself as she uses her power to scan the hand… and receives no data on the internals like she gets with actual living tissue. Given that she's clearly skin to skin… that's enough confirmation for Alice. Her reinforced hand yanks hard, ripping the robotic appendage from the shoulder of the gynoid in a shower of sparks, and she immediately swings that as a club to hit the other's head, knocking it clean off the synthetic shoulders, barely missing the professor. The sparks do catch his coat on fire, but Alice doesn't have time to deal with that…

…because the gynoids are still moving.

They both drop with unnatural synchronicity and sweep their legs at the heroine, who jumps up, flipping on her way into the air so that her feet are in place when she impacts the concrete ceiling, and kicks off, using a gravity assist to punch through both bots at once, cracking the floor beneath them as she penetrates steel and silicone. As she rips her arms out of the smoking mess, the two machines give up the proverbial ghost, and lay still. Meanwhile, the professor faints… which makes rolling him over to put out his burning clothes simple enough… just in time for the fire alarm to go off and douse everything in the hallway with some foul-smelling water.

‘Infection risk…’ Alice shakes her head as she picks up the burned professor, running him to the medical wing, not caring that she's being seen as a visibly hundred-ish pound woman carrying a hundred fifty-ish pound grown man like he was just a young toddler. An on-call professor in the medical wing makes a lesson out of it for the students in attendance as Moriarty's clothes come off via a pair of scissors and they examine the red and blistered skin: “All right class, so what class of burns do we have here?”

Alice tunes out the answer of “Second!” from a student and the ensuing follow up questions about recommended treatments and things, instead scanning the crowd… and spying another of the fake nurses. Taking a moment to change her skin and hair color, Alice stalks the creature as it leaves….
