Monstrum Arcanum

There’s this RPG video game series you’ve been following since you were a kid. You’ve played every installment of the game multiple times from the first Monstrum Arcanum on the Playstation 1 up to Monstrum Arcanum XVIII, which was the last published installment before the game studio officially went bankrupt and shut down.

The abrupt end to the series left the decades long story plot hanging with no resolution in sight which frustrated lots of fans, including you. You’ve even sent lawyers to offer to buy the franchise IP and offered to set up a new development company for the series creator Lars Nicholson to continue working on the next installment of the franchise.

However Lars refused to continue the series, citing health concerns, stress, work-life balance, and a bunch of other bullshit.

As a true fan of Monstrum Arcanum, you weren’t going to let Lars do this to himself and his legacy. You were convinced that he was not in the right state of mind. For a nobody like him, what else was he good for if not finishing Monstrum Arcanum? If he wasn’t working on the game, he’s nothing but a waste of oxygen.

So you started sending goons to intimidate him and his family. It’s all for his own good, you see. You’re sure he would thank you for guiding him back on the right path once he was working again.

Unfortunately tragedy struck. Lars was found dead soon after. He had hung himself in his garage.

It was such a pity. You wished you knew beforehand that the dude was into auto-erotic asphyxiation. Then you could have totally sent a couple of professionals his way to get him off properly. It’s the least you could do for the creator of your favorite video game series.

Anyways, if you had one regret in life, it was not being able to see the end of the Monstrum Arcanum series. But what if there was a world out there exactly like the in-game world of Monstrum Arcanum? Wouldn’t you be able to see how it all ends and how all the beloved characters resolved their destinies? Better still, you could be right there with them, witnessing it all in the flesh.

So you asked your mom if there was a world like that and she smiled.

“There’s exactly a world like that, my adorable baby boy. Would you like to go there?”

“Yes mother!” You replied excitedly.

Your mother nodded. “Very well, darling,” she said as she placed your face back between her soft, pillowy cleavage. “Sleep now, and you shall awake anew in this fantastical new world. Make sure to drink plenty of water and call mommy if you ever run out of pocket money.”

“Mmmmmfffhhhh… Yes mommy…” You managed to reply before drifting off in her warm embrace.
