Mommy named you Steel

It was Mommy that decided how to name you, but she chose the name suggested by Louis. Maybe hoping the gloomy boy would cheer up once he got the pet to take care of.

That didn't exactly happen. Having a pet to go with him didn't make him any less of a loaner, and if anything it cut time on any online interactions he used to have in a free time before that. He took his duties as a pet owner seriously though.

Unfortunately for you. It meant getting punished often for slightest transgressions.

On the first day. When the family decided on the primary caretaker, they suggested a walk.

You did what you could to resist being paraded around the neighbourhood the first time. But few shocks to the collar made you obey in the end. Reluctantly and with great embarrassment you walked behind your young Master on a leash. Looking at the neighbourhood. It seemed to be Japanese themed (similar to a house), but it didn't fully feel like Japan. Rather someone's imagination of it.

Steep hills that proved to be very difficult for you to traverse, narrow streets. Stone retaining walls. Thatched roofs here and there. It was truly beautiful sight.

You froze in place the first time you saw someone walk from the other side, but she passed two of you without a word - although with a curious glance. Like you were something ordinary, maybe a bit rare, but nothing outrageous.

You came back from the walk after an hour - both of you pretty tired. While Louis went for a shower, you got hosed down with a cold water, until you were shivering. Luckily it was a very warm summer day and you quickly got dry.

You got a dinner in the bowl on the tatami floor. It was not easy eating like that but in the end - once you abandoned any human dignity - you managed to lick that bowl clean.
