“Interesting,” said Fiona, the next day, sitting in the shade with a cup of coffee, watching all twenty girls of Class 1-B dance the mazurka naked in the middle of the Piazza San Marco, while lots of wolfish working-class Venetians whistled at them and made lewd suggestions. Miss Strappe had caught Florence smoking a cigar, and decided the whole class needed another lesson in embarrassment. “It’s not as hard as it looks.”
