The humming remains only for a second and is immediately followed by a white lightning. It is so bright that it blinds the chimera for a short moment. Good thing you knew what would happen and looked away in time. The chimera shakes it's head to help its eyes work normal again. And then it looks around to search for you. You are barely a few meters away, but the monster seems to just overlook you every time and starts to wonder where you are.

This trap is a really tricky piece of magic. It is an illusion trap that immediately affects the enemies mind directly. You invisible now for the monster, but itself sees a bunch of other illusions right now. Even you are not sure how they look like, since you have no control over them. The chimera gets nervous. It knows you are still there, but can't see or even smell you. It just throws itself around several times and starts to bite for things that are not really there. The chimera quickly gets frustrated and begins to growl.

You use your advantage and pull out your knife. Since mental mages are not really good in fighting you always carry a dagger with you in case you need to defend yourself. Carefully you get closer to the monster. It is nervous and jumps around every few moments. But this is not going to save it. In a good moment you rush forward and grab the chimera at at one of its ears. The touch breaks the spell, but it is much too late for the monster to use this against you. In the same moment you grab the chimera, you also stab it with your dagger from the downside of its jaw through to it's brain. The dagger is long and sharp enough to get through its fur, flesh and even small bones.

The chimera does not growl or scream anymore. It tries to make a sound, but only a bunch of blood leaves its wolf mouth. Then the body goes limb. You pull out you dagger and cut the throat of the beast, just make sure it is really dead and beyond healing. This **** was quick. There is no reason to feel any pity. The victims of this monster had to suffer much longer. Including the poor poisoned Tocar.

Since you're thinking about him right now, you realize with shock that you have to go to him immediately. If there is still a chance to save him somehow, every second counts.
