I have never enjoyed crossing the river in this time of the year. The water is freaking cold, man. Even more so the later it gets. Fortunately, all the time I spent in the forest helped me learn some paths. There is this one path I know which takes me straight to one of the bridges that the girls don’t use.

There are a total of 3 bridges across the river. The one the girls use as part of the path is the middle bridge. Most guys don’t use the outer bridges because they want to rush to the glade where the girls are dancing. The ones that do take the bridges generally arrive at the glade at the end of the dancing or they get there far too late. But thanks to this path I know, I can get there fast enough to still be able to watch the girls.

When I get to the other side of the bridge, I look back to see if any of the other guys are already approaching. Still nobody. When I stop participating in the Samhain event, I should tell Kynan about this path. I think he will appreciate it.

I move on to the glade and when I get there, I rest with my shoulder against a tree. Then I watch the girls dancing in a circle around the bonfire.

As I watch the girls, I am thinking back to what I told the guys back at the banquet. About me being ready to start a family. I will of course not pump my seed into the girl without warning. I am first going to ask her if she is ready to become a mother. But imagine she is, and we have our Samhain child. Who would it be?
