Melanie's Awkward Uber

As the four groups made their way to their respective rides it seemed like three of them were hitting it off already. The exception was Melanie's group who walked to their car in virtual silence.

"I guess this is ours!" Melanie stated, **** to say something to fill the awkward silence.

"Yeah" Lexie confirmed.

"It seems so" Julianne agreed.

Julianne made straight for the front passenger seat as they reached the vehicle leaving Melanie in the back with the not so friendly Lexie.

"Eyes on the road, motherfucker!" Lexie warned the driver as he couldn't help but check out his passengers naked bodies. Then it was back to silence. Melanie knew she had to say something to break it.

"So you're from Seattle. I've always wanted to go there"

"I'm from fuckin' Bremerton, I already said! It'a a whole boat ride away from Seattle!" Lexie snapped.

"Oh, of course. Sorry!" Mel apologised, looking mortified at how this bonding session was going. Lexie seemed a little surprised at such a reaction and her expression and tone softened.

"I mean it's practically Seattle. Just less cool and less shit to do. Anyway, fuck Bremerton and fuck Seattlr, how is London? I bet there is a fuckin' ton of cool stuff to do there."

"Well, yes, there is." Mel agreed "You have to be rich to afford most of it though"

"Ain't that always the fuckin' way" Lexie sighed before perking up a little "You have a cute accent, Mel!"

"Lexie, already? Seriously!" Julianne turned round and glared at her fellow glitch.

"What? I'm being fucking sociable!" Lexie protested before turning back to Mel "Julianne is obsessed with everyone's scores still even though though none of us ever go above 20%. That's why she acts like she is in a fucking business meeting all the time. I mean do I look compliant to you? Those cunts never had a chance of getting me onto NF. They must have been out of their fucking minds putting me on NA in the first place."

"It's not just that I'm worried about" Julianne continued "And try and be a bit more conscious of your language in front of our guests!"

"They have swearing in England, they probably fuckin' invented it!" Lexie retorted before turning back to Mel "What she is referring to is I got into a relationship here with someone who turned out to be an NA agent. So I guess she is worried I am flirting with you and you might be an NA agent too"

"That's not what I was implying Melanie" Julianne turned round and seemed to be genuine "She just has to remember this is business, not pleasure. We are here to get our clothes back and maybe even free the ones we lost to NF."

Melanie certainly shared that sentiment and noticed how sad Julianne looked when she said it.

"Yeah well tonight is supposed to be a fucking welcome party" Lexie replied before turning back to Melanie "You know Mel, you and I should get a beer together when we get to the mansion. Julianne will probably want to go off and write the fuckin' minutes or something"

"Yeah, that sounds good" Melanie nodded.

"You got anyone back home, boyfriend, girlfriend?" Lexie asked, not being the most subtle type.

"No, I'm a free agent while I'm here" Melanie found herself replying. It was her second rash moment today after grabbing Barbie's butt earlier. What was going on? She would have to check her score wasn't going up once she got the chance.

"Stick with me Mel and you'll be okay here" Lexie smiled with what seemed like genuine warmth this time "Not everyone is a lovely as they like to make out. And I'm not talking about Julianne. She's boring as fuck but she's harmless"

Melanie was grateful to be bonding with someone already, but she couldn't help wondering who Lexie was referring to and how her friends were getting on with their new roommates.
