Meeting the rest of the Dodsons

Afterwards the two of you pulled your clothes back in while occasionally kissing. When you were done Carmen giggled.

"What?" you asked.

"What about her?" you asked, curious.

"She's not stopped asking me questions about you. If you ask me, she's already got a crush on you without ever seeing you" Carmen explained. You couldn't help but laugh.

"How come?" you asked.

"I guess my mom and dad described you" she replied. She took a sip of her espresso then looked at you. "Do you want to meet them?" she asked.

"Sure" you said. "Might as well, right?" Carmen nodded and smiled.

"So you are the vaunted John that my daughter is dating, huh?" Carmen's mom asked. She was white, accounting for your girlfriend's Caucasian half. It was odd as she looked so much like Carmen, except white. The resemblance was uncanny.

"Yes, ma'am" you said, "it's nice to meet you."

"I better hope so, after you kissed my girl before you even met us" she replied.

"Mom, please" Carmen said, exasperated already.

"She's only kidding, honey" Mr. Dodson said. Carmen shot her dad a look that said she wasn't so sure, but then inwardly shrugged. "Hello again, John" he said, offering you his hand.

"Nice to see you again, sir" you said, shaking his hand.

"See, hon? He's very well-behaved. I told you you didn't have to worry for Carmen's virtue" he said. Carmen rolled her eyes and went "urgh". You couldn't help but smile. This kind of ribbing was normal in your family, so to see it in another family was comforting. Familiar.

"So you say" her mother said. "Hello, John. I'm Iris."

"A pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Dodson" you told her, deciding to stick with formality for now.

"See? Even now he calls you missus" Fernando said with a grin.

"Alright, alright" Iris said then gave you a smile. "I'm sorry, I just get a little protective of my girl. Both of them, in fact."

"It's fine" you said, "you want the best for Carmen. I've seen it in my mom, too."

"Your mom? What about your dad?" Fernando asked. You shrugged.

"No clue. He left us 17 years ago" you replied. You knew what usually followed after that statement so you pre-empted the Dodsons there: "It's fine" you said. "My sister and I moved on and my baby sister never met him."

"Still" Iris said, going from standoffish to sympathetic. "Would you guys like something to drink?" You nodded your agreement then followed Carmen to the living room. Well, you had ****, as she pulled you along to the living room. While you were getting seated you heard Fernando call upstairs.

"Luci, will you come downstairs? Carmen's boyfriend is here to meet you" he called.

"Coming!" you heard.

"You're in for it now" Carmen whispered to you with a grin. When you saw her coming down the stairs your breath stopped for a moment. God, this girl was just as beautiful as her big sister.
