Meeting an old friend

I make my way out of the shop and onto the bustling streets, I walk along keeping my head down a few women try to beckon me into a brothel as I pass but I stay focused, I needed to get out of the city. I keep my hood pulled low to avoid anyone recognising me as I move as quickly as I can heading back towards the stags head, the main street wouldn't be ideal for people but I didn't know this city and the main street would lead me to paths out of the city.

As I'm walking I see the broken face of the man from last night, the one Quinara had punched, thinking on my feet I dart down a side alley before he notices me. I hustle through the alley when a voice shouts behind me "Huck!" I recognise the voice, "Barcus" I say turning to face him, Barcus was one of Lord Baxter's men a man I once considered a friend. "You know I didn't think you had it in you" Barcus says approaching me his hand on the hilt of his long sword "I mean robbing our lord, takes a lot of spine". I look into his brown eyes as I plead with him "you don't have to do this", Barcus scoffs "oh I do, now you can either come with me nice and easy or I take your head to Lord Baxter." I hadn't even lasted an hour outside of Quinara's care before I was back in mortal danger, "I'll come quietly" I say resigning myself to **** but choosing the option that would give me just a little bit longer.

Barcus binds my hands and leads me out of the alley "I really thought you wouldn't make it this far Huck, I mean we're a days ride from Hearthwood and you made it here on foot, not bad for.. Well for you" Barcus says dismissively, I grumble in response.
