Meeting In The Throne Room

Walking through the corridors of the palace felt odd to Ahsoka now. With the collar she had been eyed as a waste of breath or a slab of meat by passing Zygerrians, and other slaves looked at her with pleading eyes and sympathy. Now however, it seemed every guard knew of her newfound role and status and so avoided eye contact or shot a distasteful glance at most and slaves now cowered away from her. She was of lower status than every Zygerrian in the palace, but higher than any ordinary ****, and apparently off limits to both. Still she was cautious not to cause any trouble as she wound her way through the halls. The route from the Queen's quarters to the throne room was easily followed, being more richly furnished than any off branching corridor. 8 minutes after being left alone in that room, Ahsoka arrived by the main doors to the throne room. Miraj sat on her throne, sipping at a glass of scarlet liquid that stained her lips a deeper red than they already were.

"Come forth," the Queen said, beckoning her forward. She approached slowly, cautiously observing every part of the room. She was meant to protect the queen, despite being her captor. If she were to die, surely someone worse would take her place and have Ahsoka executed. Her best bet was to do her job, for the safety of her friends. She reached the platform in front of the Queen's throne, and nodded her head to her, confirming the room's security. "In the interest of my own safety with you as my protector, I feel like you may need these," she said presenting Ahsoka's twin lightsabers. She took them carefully, inspecting them closely by lifting them to hover in the air and disassembling before her. She studied each part. 'Everything is in order,' she thought to herself, satisfied with her weapons. Clicking the components back together and letting them drop into her waiting palms, she then ignited them, the green glow lighting hers and the Queen's faces.

Despite herself Ahsoka smiled, happy at having her trusted companions by her sides again. She hooked them back onto her belt and took her place at the Queen's side. The day crept on, slavers milling in and out of the room. As the day wound down, the sun shimmered through the stained glass behind the throne casting a yellow glow into the room. Only then as Miraj resolved a dispute between two **** owners did Ahsoka sense a danger imminent. In the blink of an eye, she had ignited her lightsaber and swiped it through the air behind the throne, perfectly catching the sniper bolt that shattered the window behind them. The bolt deflected back, smashing through a different pane of glass.
