Chase the Assassin

The Queen and slavers dove to the floor out of sight. Ahsoka, however, propelled herself through the **** out through the broken window frame in the direction of the would be assassin. There was nowhere in the city that was high enough to make that shot.

'Those birds they ride are far too unstable to make that shot, it must have come from a different mesa,' she surmised as she leapt from balcony to balcony down the palace's steep walls and then across the densely packed roofs of the city below. The mesas were far too distant for her to get there on foot. Once again she **** herself high into the air and intercepted a passing bird, spurring it towards the only local mesa tall enough. She landed there within a minute and on the flat plane, there was nowhere for the assassin to run.

He was dressed in the disguise of a Zygerrian guard, just like Rex had. The thought sent a pang of pain through her chest. "Lay down your wea-" she was cut off as the man whipped his blaster pistol from its holster and unleashed a slew of shots at her in quick succession Being left ****, she dashed forward, deflecting and dodging each bolt sent at her. In a matter of a few steps she was in range and struck a decisive blow, slashing down the mans torso, leaving a sizzling glow in her blade's wake. He fell to his knees then slumped onto his side, lifeless.

Ahsoka deactivated her lightsabers and clicked them onto her belt, calming her breathing after the sudden rush of combat. She knelt down and removed the helmet from the fallen man and scrambled back in terror...

"REX?!"
