Meeting Aunt Lexi

You did your best to focus on work until it was time for your meeting with Aunt Lexi. You had worried about running into Lisbeth after your sudden loss of sanity, but thankfully she had locked herself in her office with a ‘do not disturb’ sign on the door.

When the time came for the meeting, you headed towards Aunt Lexi’s office. It was high up in the building, and you were beginning to feel nervous.

“Everything is counting on this going well.”, you thought to yourself. The warning your mother had given you earlier was also rolling around in your head.

Why had your mother warned you about Aunt Lexi? You had known her since you were a little kid. She had been friends with your mother since before you were born.

Your memories were filled with visits from your aunt. She had always doted on you, sending you expensive toys and gifts every holiday and birthday. You shook your head. Aunt Lexi had never given you a reason to be wary of her.

Arriving at the door to her corner office, you let her secretary know you had arrived for your appointment. After calling in on the phone intercom to announce you, the secretary waved you in.

As you went to the door to open it up, you were suddenly assaulted.

A small body flew at you at intense speed, colliding with your chest. “James! It’s really you!” a young-sounding voice squealed in delight.

The lithe body that currently clung to you was none other than your Aunt Lexi. She had the petite frame of a woman barely in her twenties, and wore a black and red gothic-style dress that exposed some of her pale white skin.

Her hair was long, and it flared out in loose fiery-red curls. Jutting out from her head were two sleek black horns. From just above her butt was a long forked tail. She held onto you tightly, clinging to your body. She aggressively rubbed her pale face back and forth against your chest like you were a favorite stuffed animal. It was a wonder her makeup was staying on.

She’d always been clingy with you like this. When you were young, it had always flustered you when Aunt Lexi would make you sit in her lap to cuddle. She had stopped coming around as often when you started dating Stephanie. Now, it felt embarrassing knowing that Morgana was clearly witnessing this unusual familial bonding through your newfound telekinetic link.

“So this is your connection? Just how many women have you ensnared, pet?” Morgana seethed with unmasked jealousy.

“She’s my mom’s friend. I’ve known her since I was a kid.”

“C’mon, Aunt Lexi. You can’t cling to me like this. We’re at work you know.”, you said in a playful tone. You realized your hypocrisy after what had happened earlier today with Lisbeth.

Lexi looked up at you with blood-red eyes and a grin filled with sharp teeth. “Oh no! Thinking about reporting me to HR?” Lexi giggled in her sweet high-pitched voice. “Good luck with that, James! You’re in my domain now!”

Despite what she said, Lexi eased her grip. You gently lowered her small body to the floor. Standing her full height, Aunt Lexi could barely reach your chest. Despite her outward appearance, she was much older than even your mother. Aunt Lexi was a devil after all .
