Medical Checks

-As the two women got off, they saw a long line that started near the shuttles and seemed to not have an end. Abigail looked back at the woman who looked at the time and rubbed her head. Seeing as there was no way around the checkpoints without getting into more trouble, they decided to stand on the line and keep the things needed to pass through each checkpoint close by. When they got close enough to the first checkpoint, they heard one of the officers talking to a young man who seemed to have contraband on him, but he kept explaining that he is one of the nurses and he always asks the staff if he could carry it to and from work, to which they expressed their agreement and pointed at a stack of papers that he claimed supported his argument, however, the officers weren't having any of it and called their dispatch on the radio for something. Less than two minutes later, a few more guards appeared at the checkpoint and dragged the man off the line and into a room. The woman behind Abigail tapped her shoulder and explained that she had some things the doctors said she must carry and was worried that she might end up like the man in the room. Abigail didn't know what to do besides reassuring the woman that they will have to let her keep her things if it was important. The woman also told her that if she didn't have it, she doesn't know how long she can last before someone had to take her to the morgue.-

"I'll wait for you after they are done scanning me, if they give you trouble with it, I'll try to vouch for you."

"Y-You would really do that?"

-Abigail nodded and the woman smiled brightly and thanked her. She wasn't sure if it helped to make the woman relax, but if it helped in some way, then she won't complain or be too worried about someone else. When it came close to being Abigail's turn for the checkpoint scans, she picked up two buckets and gave one to the woman behind her, when she turned around she saw that the line behind them grew and started to put her belongings in the bucket, then placed it on the conveyor belt, then the woman followed suit after Abigail's bucket went into the machine. In front of the people in that line was a cylinder scanner that was big enough to fit someone in some form of power armor. On the sides of the cylinder, there were 6 columns of arrays that were supposed to scan the individual and send the image to the person sitting behind a terminal. The scans that show up reveal what the person is wearing under their clothing and in their body in case someone decided to be weird enough to smuggle contraband in their ass or between their breasts if they had a pair. One of the guards motioned for Abigail to step forward and when she did, the cylinder closed behind her from the guard on the terminal and the scan started. Multiple displays showed up in front of Abigail for retina scans, bio-mechanical scans, etc., and they all took a while to finish before Abigail was cleared to exit the cylinder and retrieve her things. When it was the woman's turn, Abigail waited next to the conveyor for her hoping that the scans would be the same for her and they wouldn't pick up anything weird on her, however, the scans seemed to be taking a little longer than hers, which caught the attention of the guard who walked over to the terminal to see what was going on. Both guards looked at the woman who then turned to Abigail because she knew that the guards found the object on her.-

"Ma'am, you mind coming with us?"

-Abigail turned towards the guards,-

"Actually, she is with me and she has the necessary documents that say the doctors allowed her to keep her device."

-The guard looked through the scans again,-

"So the guards allowed her to have this?"

-Abigail walked over to the terminal and saw that the woman had an object in her vagina, which caused her to turn slightly red,-

"Well for that, no. But surely you must know what that object is..."

"We do, but in case it's not what we think it is, we are going to be held responsible. As well as you."

"That is fine, you can check if that is, what we are thinking it is and I certainly hope that it is the other device."

-The guard walked over to the front with Abigail and opened the cylinder for the woman to step out and asked her to go to the room with him so they could double-check something. A couple of embarrassing moments later, the woman walked out with her face beet red and looked at an embarrassed Abigail who didn't try to establish eye contact.-

"I-I completely fo-forgot about that. I've been using it for so long, it became part of my routine."

"Th-that's fine. When we are done with the checkpoints, you... can put it back in."

"They confiscated it."

-Abigail looked at the woman and was trying to process what she heard,-

"Well, if they are going to do that... I hope they will at least clean it for you and hand it back when they are done."

"What's next?"

"Second checkpoint is down there, if we get moving now, we might be able to get through a little quicker, especially since I'm hoping it will be just another scan."

-The two women walked with the line towards the second checkpoint and saw that the line was surprisingly shorter, but not with a scanner that they saw previously. Abigail stuck her head out to see what it looked it and saw a man writing on a book before handing it to an android who then nodded at one of the guards to let him through. The woman behind Abigail looked over to see what was going on.-

"What type of scanner is that?"

"I don't think the guards are scanning us, they have a droid checking our handwriting or something."

"Makes sense, I guess. What with people stealing identity cards and pretending to be doctors, I'd say this is a good test. Some doctors write a certain way and I guess only Androids would be able to see those small details and for hours, no less."

-As they followed the line towards the next checkpoint, Abigail noticed that one of the people in the line was fidgeting with their ID. She figured it was some medical reason for the person to be like that, but didn't put it behind her and kept an eye on the person. When it came to be their turn, they signed their name, gave it to the Android, but the Android didn't recognize the handwriting, which made the person try to bolt from the checkpoint only to get clothes-lined by another person standing on the line. Abigail had to wait a couple of minutes as they escorted the person into a room and switched guards. When it came to her turn, she signed her name, gave it to the droid and it accepted the signature, followed by Abigail standing to the side, waiting for the woman she was with until the Android stopped her and told the guard to not be alarmed as the woman was explicitly needed in a different part of the medical wing. The guard looked at her name and nodded before escorting her,-

"Come with me, Ms. Ignor, Dr. Von Krieg needs you at the lower ICU. Android #320, please take care of the rest until I return."

"Understood, sir."

-Abigail looked on helplessly as the woman was escorted someplace else and continued to walk along the path to finish up the security checks and get to her job. It took over thirty minutes for the checkpoints to be done with Abigail before she could finally enter the side of the medical facility she was in and by the time she got to the elevator, she got a message on her holo-communicator from her supervisor asking to see her. Abigail gulped as she worried what the supervisor could want with her and checked the time in case it had to do with lateness. When the elevator got to her stop, she stepped out and was welcomed by a waiting room full of people who needed different procedures.-
