Meanwhile, at SHIELD HQ

Col. Nick Fury paces around the bridge of the SHIELD helicarrier as technicians and analysts buzz around him at dozens of computer terminals, putting together intel on the ongoing situation in Wakanda. Fury cuts an intimidating figure in the cutting-edge nerve center of the helicarrier, his dark ebony features and eyepatch doing nothing to hide the scowl crossing the colonel's face. Slipping his hands into his black leather trenchcoat, Fury sighs and walks towards one of the room's massive windows, getting yet another aerial view of Wakanda from 200 miles away.

"I don't get it, Hill," he says to the attractive assistant director of SHIELD, Maria Hill, a highly decorated counterterrorism agent in her own right. Normally, Col. Fury would be checking out her tight, athletic body in her uniform, but things were pretty dire at the moment and his attention was currently on global security.

"What would Namor have to gain from destabilizing Wakanda? They've been on good terms for decades and now, all of a sudden, their government openly helps overthrow T'Challa."

Maria Hill glances back, her own face showing concern. It was a little scary to see her boss like this, the normally cool and collected SHIELD director completely puzzled as an entire nation lies in turmoil beneath him. It was a bad situation for everyone, but they had always pulled through international incidents before. They would do it again.

"Couldn't tell you, Director. Our intel is saying Frost is the link between Namor and M'Baku, but we can't confirm that yet. We can't see beyond their holographic barrier, and communications have been extremely limited with Birnin Zana. It seems like they're waiting to reach out." The assistant director shifts uncomfortably, wishing she had more answers to give.

"Waiting for what...?" Fury says to himself, leaning with his hand against the tall glass as he gazes towards the mountainous green hills of Wakanda. "Hill, can you let the UN know I'll be a few minutes late to our briefing?"

He finally turns back to address the crew.

"Somebody get me Agent Romanoff. Now."
