Matthew (OC), a new student, Reality Tome Heroes Relic

Matthew Fernwick had recently been accepted to the Officers Academy at Gerreg Mach Monastery, in the Blue Lions house, run by Byleth, a former mercenary.

"Ah, Mister Fernwick," Professor Hanneman the 'Father of Crestology', said. "Would it be too much to ask if I could see if you possess a Crest?"

Matthew, who was a commoner, doubted he had a Crest, since those were reserved for nobles only. But he figured he would humor Hanneman.

He went into the old man's office, and Hanneman strapped a device to his arm.

After a while, a strange symbol appeared in the air...

"My word!" Hanneman pushed his glasses up. "This Crest...why, it's a new one."

"Really?" Matthew asked.

Hanneman nodded. "Indeed. I'll have to do some in-depth studying, but I don't recognize this Crest at all."

"Wait..." the old professor dug through his shelves. "Here."

He handed Matthew a book with his matching Crest symbol on it, and a quill.

"This is one of a handful of Heroes Relics which doesn't have a Crest tied to it," Hanneman explained. "But it seems you have the matching Crest."

"What does the Relic do?" Matthew asked.

"It supposedly has the power to change reality itself," Hanneman said. "Not that anyone has tested it before. Still, if that does turn out to be the case...ah, well. You seem like a nice young man. Don't do anything I wouldn't do."

Matthew left with his new Heroes Relic, wondering if it really did work the way Hanneman said.
