Mario has been visiting the Mushroom Kingdom for quite a while. It was kind of clock work for him at this point: Travel through several worlds, defeat Bowser, save the princess, get cake.

He was the first half of the Mario Bros. The most important one in his opinion. Luigi had his girlfriend Princess Daisy. But Mario has his girlfriend Pauline and his chick on the side Princess Peach.
