You want to tell Malissa about Davis and get a drink. You stroll up to her office. The door is closed and you knock.

“Who’s there?”

“It’s me, mother.” It still sounds a bit strange, but each time you say it, it seems more natural.

“Mother one of the new interns seems strange to me.”

“What do you mean?”

“She seems too old, too detached for an intern.”

“What’s her name?”

“Akira.”

“You’ll find Marsha is quite obedient to you now. Take her and watch this new intern.”

“Of course, mother.”

You motions for you to go and you exit her office. You catch your reflection in the window and you smile.

Strangely you know just what to do. You focus on your eyes and they change back to an icy blue.
