"A... anyways..." Lauren shook her head, confused at what she'd been saying. Dennis grinned, knowing he'd just erased his most embarrassing day from everyone's memory!

"What do you want? Here to ask me out again?" Lauren said.

God, what was it with her? Everything she said to him was some jab or insult! It had been years of this! Well, he'd change all that right now!

I wish Lauren was hopelessly attracted to me, Dennis thought.

Sure enough, Lauren's bitchy grin faded. She looked uncertain, and uncharacteristically nervous. Her eyes kept darting down, looking at Dennis's body.

"Wow, you look really good!" She said. Then she realized what she'd said and her eyes widened.

"I mean... you look better. Then you used to." Lauren said, blushing slightly.

Dennis understood now. She was always trying to be superior to him, even if she didn't remember embarrassing him, she looked down on him. One part of her still wanted to, despite the fact that she was now attracted to him...
