Does Mackenzie go for her clothes or her scattered belongings first?
Mackenzie and the Scattered Stuff
Mackenzie tiptoed out of the shower and crouched down to grab her stuff, making sure to keep her towel wrapped tightly and her bottom hemline pointed downward. Her phone, ID, wallet, room key, some makeup, and a few other odds and ends were spread out over a good quarter of the bathroom. They were so far apart that Mackenzie needed to walk around and crouch at each one, which she tried to do in a ladylike fashion in case anyone suddenly entered.
Mackenzie thought about going for her clothes first, but felt that being caught in her towel picking up all her crap would be more acceptable than someone walking into a room covered in her spilled purse contents while she was getting dressed. Although this left her relatively more exposed, she just felt it would be easier to explain. Also, she didn't want anyone stepping on her phone or something like that.
Plus, the shower test was a success, so I should have nothing to worry about, Mackenzie reassured herself. She knocked on the wood of one of the toilet stalls to hopefully avoid tempting fate.
No matter how much she tried to convince herself this wasn't one of her embarrassing incidents, Mackenzie still kept eyeing the door, afraid that anyone might burst in at any moment. She felt awkward and uneasy standing in the middle of a public bathroom fully nude with only a towel on. And since she sort of rushed through drying herself, she was dripping quite a bit onto the floor as well. Her hair in particular was still soaking wet, although that fact made her feel like she looked a little more natural. If anyone saw her and the showers a few feet away, it was quite clear where she just came from.
Mackenzie's biggest regret was putting her sandals in the suitcase. She wished she had just showered in them. Her bare feet slapped and squeaked along the damp tile floor and made her feel especially naughty, like she was doing something she wasn't supposed to and could be caught at any moment.
